I wont be getting dcs streaming service, but I would consider disney's. They just need to have ALL of their content available. Disney as a company has a huge range of television shows and movies, some of which are not available on dvd and or are hard to find. If I can watch those at any time I would consider it. Or maybe if they had live stream of their channels.

I've already got most of my favorite Disney movies on DVD anyway.

Although if they include Wander Over Yonder, I would pay for the service JUST FOR THAT SPECIFIC SHOW. Actually, if enough people do that, and tell Disney that's the sole reason they're paying, maybe that'll help the show get the 3rd season it deserves...

one thing i'm not looking forward to is when every single fucking company wants their own premium streaming service and you're gonna have to pay like $8 a month a piece for all these services.

eventually it's not going to be cost effective to cut cable anymore

No this will be better because then you'll be able to choose what you want and have it streaming whenever you want as opposed to waiting for new episodes to be put on Hulu and shit.

IF this had all the old Disney shorts (ie, "Merry Melodies" ) and had old tv movies, etc like "Mr. Boogedy", I'd consider it.

What we actually need is competition for YouTube since that has none and keeps turning to shit.

this is a bad idea

their stuff will be back on Netflix by 2020

This. They're good with making content, but terrible in every other way much of the time. Split/Second and Turok were awesome, but Disney botched their launches and just said "fuck it!"

I'm confused why everyone is so annoyed at Disney. I understand the "I don't want the internet to turn into cable" argument, but the "Disney makes bad stuff and will fail" argument. It's not for you, of course you don't care about it.

because everyone seems to think companies will start trying to manipulate the netflix fanbase to a point where the flaws of streaming are known

if it's the only thing around then the prices would have to be inflated drastically

Yeah, this won't fail horribly at all. Just what we needed, another subscription streaming service.

Ah too late to edit, but thanks for the point out.

Anyhow, will their move to have their own streaming service affect streaming of ABC shows? I'm asking because Disney owns ABC.

It depends.

CBS doesn't put any of their stuff on Hulu because they have their own streaming service, but they put a bunch of their stuff on Netflix.

The article doesn't really go into detail about how much Disney is going to move exclusively to their streaming service. Could be just their "Disney movies" or it could be anything under the Disney brand.
