Why does everyone slow play in brawl?

It's less that they slowplay there and more that you're being matched up against low-level players who you normally wouldn't be, who take a long time to see the lines, even in simple scenarios.

The worst is any sort of discover brawl. First you have to wait 20 seconds for them to decide which copy of discover-a-card they want to play first. Then you have to wait for them to read the card text because they don't know what any of the options do. Then they sit there for no reason until the end of the rope. And that's turn 1.

I keep getting like the prince cards and "when this dies on your opponents turn, summon a minion". My opponent gets "When you play this card, do something." Or "When this dies, get another minion"

this has to be the worst, most lazy brawl they've ever done

This is one of those brawls where if you're losing by turn 4 and your hand sucks you're better off conceding.

something I just figured out the hard way because I didn't think it through first

if you get a stealth hydra from build-a-beast, and they hit it with AoE, it will break the stealth, since taking damage causes it to deal damage to you.

I totally understand the mechanic, but it was something that I didn't anticipate the first time because I wasn't used to thinking of it in those terms

I have never liked stealth's wording, as it makes no mention that you can target your own minions with stealth. I realize that after the first time it happens you know better but it just seems like an oversight that annoys me for whatever reason.

I'll be honest I don't even play the Tavern Brawl hardly ever. which is pretty bad since it's probably the most efficient way to get a bunch of free packs. but yeah I almost never enjoy them and found I stay more invested in the game if I just ignore the TB's and focus on the aspects I do enjoy.

btw I saw a cool clip of someone using a deck that runs Leeroy Jenkins along with Frost Lich Jaina. has synergy with summoning whelps on your opponents side of the board that you can kill in order to spawn water elementals. plus the 6 damage burst. pretty interesting.

the hunter music video is responsible for winning me a lot of games because it instilled in people that going face is stupid

It's not like I keep track, but when I sit down for a longer play session I feel like I end up picking up a game or two because the other guy thinks trading wins you the game, and not face damage.

You have to know how to play to your outs. That's what people don't realize.

Man as bad as Mage is a matchup to priest. Paladins pretty much can't win against them unless the Paladin is running the Beardo version (which I think is bad).

I haven't played much of the deck myself, but one thing I have seen is that a lot of the more successful decklists are cutting some of the top end in order to be better able to combat early aggression. Perhaps try one of these lists:

Yeah, Priest continues to be the class which is the least fun to play against. I'd rather play against Pirate Warrior* than Priest. Even when I win, it isn't satisfying.

*Or Jade Druid or old Shaman or whatever your cancer deck is

what I've seen people say before is that priest is the least fun class to play against when it's actually good. I guess we should have appreciated dumpster tier priest while we had it.

maybe it's the decks I play but I feel like I always have a chance against druid and the matches don't take forever. against priest it's basically getting to the point where I will likely start conceding on like turn 5 or 6 if I'm not already sitting on lethal, because there's no point in playing out the match fully when I know I have like a 2% chance of winning.

The other problem is the many varieties of priest. Some are fun to play against, and some are just pure obnoxious. Like the aforementioned Obsidian Statue priest. Everything I play goes into the act of defeating statues, which would automatically kill something every time they died. And somehow they always manage to get one out with Barnes or with the "summon a 5/5 from your deck" card.

In other news, I can stop buying packs. I hit the pity timer, got my legendary, and it's time to start saving up for the next expansion now. First non-DK legendary in Rotface, which wasn't really what I wanted, but the laws of probability said I shouldn't expect a good one.

Lost to a Druid in Arena after he got King Krush off Tortollan Forager

Truly nobody ever expects King Krush!

There are more forms of Druid than there are Priest

-Jades
-Aggressive Token that Innervates Fledglings and Hydras
-Mid-Range Token that creates walls of Taunts with Plague and other cards and then buffs them a ton (Probably the best Druid deck too)
-Ramp that just creates walls of taunts then has Hadronox and N'Zoth to create more taunts
-There's even Medivh versions out there that create a bunch of spells and with Atiesh + UI creates a 10 drop, a 5/5, 5 armor, Deals 5 damage to a minion, draws 5 cards and maybe even drops some Arcane Giants to boot

Meanwhile, Priest mainly has Highlander and EZ Big, and maybe Dragon and Combo which are more fringe.

Priest is totally fine to play againat as long as it's not a really bad hard control deck whose win condition is "dunno, kill stuff and steal stuff?" The greedy midrange lists are alright.

Right now, the two main variants are Highlander Machine Gun and EZ Big EZ Priest. So we've certainly dodged that meta!
