you were clearly in the winning position then he just gets the most crazy results off of all three medivh charges to completely flip the game.

then you topdecked fireplume phoenix for lethal anyway.

for what it's worth you did make the right play by going face there and you were rewarded for it. so yeah, the outcome was ultimately skill based. it's just crazy how easily he could have bodied you out of the game based on three random die rolls, and you had to get insanely lucky yourself to make a comeback.

I'm facing a lot of mages. Wish I had card for another deck. Mage is probably my worst matchup. I instantly lose to DK mage unless he doesn't draw the DK. I also lose to quest mage in almost all cases.

I think you waited one turn too long to start going face at the end, but it didn't matter since you won anyway.

what are you playing right now?

there are some classes where it's possible to make cheap and viable decks so it might be possible for you to make a second or third deck without spending a lot of resources.

I play priest. I can make pirate, but don't really want to. It's not a matter of like finding viable decks that are cheap. I have no dust. The only reason I was able to build into priest was because it was the class I played the previous expansion.

I can build into rogue and hunter. For rogue I need shaku and valeera. I have the rest of the cards I need most likely (I have double prep, double vilespine, vancleef, etc.) Not sure if I'd put lillian voss in it or not, but if so I'd want her too.

For Hunter I'd likely just need deathstalker.

Arena #3 (cont.)
{Druid}

Game 9: Vs Druid. I went Second. Weird opener. I innervated out a 3 drop on turn 1 to try and seize tempo. Then I coined out another 3 drop on turn 2. I got TIRION FORDRING off of shallow gravedigger. Man I love this card. Went into lategame with board advantage and just pressed it as hard as possible. Being able to drop Tirion and slow down any attempts he made to regain control helped a lot. Win.

Looks like Ulti won't be the only one to get 7 wins tonight!

Game 10: Vs Paladin. I went First. Just realized this is the first game where I drew Deathspeaker. Huh. What are the odds of not drawing a card in 9 consecutive games? It actually ended up being pretty clutch here and helped me seize the board on an off-tempo turn 4 play. He dropped a devastating Tarim on turn 6 to get back into the game. Yikes. This one ended up being super close and we fought hard for the board. He ended up with a pretty big card advantage while I went into topdeck mode. Annnddd then he played Medivh. Definitely one of the cases where there's just a massive gap between our deck quality. Two really good legendaries vs my shitty deck with no good cards and two actively bad synergy cards. The guy literally had knife juggler into stand against darkness on the following turn. Disgusting. I wonder if I accidentally queued into someone who was trying to snipe Kripp or something. This is the most ballistic deck I have ever seen in arena. And he still had dinosize as if he wasn't ridiculously far enough ahead already. Loss.

Final Result: 7-3

This deck performed way better than I expected but ultimately ran into the wall of high quality opponents at higher wins and I couldn't get any more distance out of it. Oh well.

Faced a jade druid. Decided not to summon jade golems with his idols til like turn 10. Like it took him so long to do it that it let me find 24+ damage to kill him with in a turn. Could have gotten more if it didn't take so long for lyras animations.

Oh yeah hunter is a very good class to climb early with. If it wasn't for a new expansion it's probably what I'd be playing.

hmm... I was messing around with an evolve shaman right after I pulled the thrall deathseer card but it ended up being too expensive to get the cards I was missing so I scrapped it. the fundamentals I'd say are pretty straightforward though. you want to put in Call In The Finishers, Saronite Chain Gang, and Dopplegangster. Either one of these cards can be played along with the DK card to instantly create a board for yourself. and they can all individually be combo'd with the Evolve card itself to gain some tempo early on.

my theory with an evolve deck is that you generally want to cut overstatted Overload minions. even though this is the one thing Shaman tends to do well they are actually bad for this type of deck because you're paying the overload cost on the following turn and you generally don't want to evolve something that is overstatted and transform it into something that will probably have lower stats. I remember using lightning bolt, mana tide totem, and spirit claws as well in my deck. no idea how well the experts line up with me on this stuff. I've never been much of a Shaman player myself.

best thing about the DK card is the ability to make favorable trades and then evolve your wounded minions in order to full heal them and upgrade them to a new minion of the next mana cost. once you get your hero power going and seize control of the board it plays a lot like the theoretical board control priest would.

I'll have to post my deck lists next time I'm in the game. My main problem with DK Evolve is either not getting the evolve cards or the good evolve minions like dopplegangster and chain gang. Like I think I have drawn DK Thrall once, ever.

this was a problem I had as well, yeah. the amazing thing about DK Thrall is that he only costs 5 mana so you can activate your game swinging hero power change earlier than any of the other DK cards. the downside is that... I almost never drew him by turn 5. and often I'd go well past turn 10 without drawing him.

I think the consistency of Evolve, Master of Evolution, and DK Thrall might help with this. but I don't know if I can say for sure. I wasn't able to test it out myself.

also for what it's worth the hunter deck list I posted above is a minion based board control deck. this is one of the best types of decks to play to get better at the game. so if you think you're actually a bad player it might be worth giving it a try. the goal of the deck isn't to swarm the board and go face. it's actually to set up the most favorable trades possible and make it so your opponent can't establish a board while you establish one for yourself. THEN you go for the face once you've leveraged your minions into a superior position.

Eh, I don't think I'm actually bad. Just a mix of luck and probably silly/bad plays here and there. Admittedly my decks aren't made to be stone cold killers, I mean I still have Yogg Saron in all my mage decks.

I feel like in constructed things are pretty balanced. Except for Jade, which is dumb. Like the level of rng I think has gone down overall

But in arena things have gotten worse every set since TGT.
