It's like that for every job. Wendys, Sears, Mcdonalds, the movie theater, Construction, anything thats not a salaried career..and if you complain your shifts get cut to 1 a week, as a sign for you to quit and fuck off..i know because I am a restaurant manager and I do it to people personally and it's happened to me every where I've worked as I rose up through the ranks...there are no "worker protections", if the next guy who came from the 3rd world is going to work 55 hours without overtime and a break then you are too or else you are outta here

just following orders, i get the budget, hours and schedule from the boss and make due with what i got....maybe if you weren't a stay at home video game playing teen or one of these schoolboys that are in college until their 26 but have never had a job before you would see that its like this in the majority of workplaces like this, and its just the reality that gets worse with every increase to minimum wage and every illegal who feels like they have the right to a sanctuary city

Now if you want an industry in Canada that's actually been "destroyed" by immigration? Long-haul truck (semi) drivers. Similar to the taxi industry, they came in, drove down wages, and took over.

You can't really say it's "not their fault" when at least with the taxi industry they did it intentionally and now they do everything they can to protect their monopolies, including having limits in place for the # of licensed taxis, having a taxi license cost an arm and a leg, and literally sending training material back to their home countries so more people can come here to be taxi drivers. Like they literally work with the governments to maintain their control.

Why do you think they are and were literally protesting Uber and the others? They don't even care if they have to play by the same rules, they just don't want them period because they can't control them.
