Jessica Oates was furious when they told her her son was required to return a letter "citing a religious or cultural exceptioin" otherwise he needed to CUT his long hair in order to continue his education at Barbers Hill Independent School District. She said she refused to go through with the orders and said his long hair is "a part of who he is" as a person. She said "He's never had a hair cut..it's just kind of part of his identity. Also, i don't believe that short hair should be required to get an education." Barbers Hill policy has a strict rule that boys must keep their hair short and above the neck, eyes and ears. She attempted to put his hair into a bun but they still didn't approve. Jessica said "I feel like my son is owed the same education that all other children in this school district have" as she slammed the SEXIST guidelines as the school basically said that her son's hair is GIRLY and not right for a BOYS!! She says "He's just so smart and it blows my mind..full of energy and excited to learn." The school released a statement and said "Our local elected board has established policy based on community expectations, and Barbers hill admin will continue to implement the said policy" Jess Herbst, New Hope mayor and transgender rights activist said "Barbers Hill Texas School District discriminatory hair policy is an attempt to force everyone into medicore stereotypes. #CivilRights" A Woman mocked the district stating "Well, it's Barbers Hill. They like cutting hair. Thats how they stay in business"..and Jessica said she will NOT cut his hair. Do you think Men with Long Hair is "Girly" and not right for a man to have?. Of all things to complain about, a haircut? Seriously?
Full Throttle posted... Barbers Hill policy has a strict rule that boys must keep their hair short and above the neck, eyes and ears. Their school, their rules. Does she really want to hurt her son's education or drive further way to another public school just for this? Of all things to make a stand on, I don't think this is one of them. --- "You must gather your party before venturing forth" "Go for the eyes Boo! Go for the eyes!" ... Copied to Clipboard!

Not gonna lie....he looks like a girl.....even without the long hair. He just not has a boyish face honestly. You can tell this by the hair in a bun picture. But it is up to the school. Of they have biast rules, then just don't go there. Deny them your enrollement. Just go to another shool. If the nest school is a long distance away then she needs to evaluate his long hair identity or the distance it will take.

The poll confuses the issue here-this kid was (through the fault of his parents) in violation of the school code so the school had every right to do it. Not to mention that the kid really does look like a girl in those pics.
As for the poll question, I don't care who wears their hear long or short but long hair like that kid or a manbun on a guy is usually a red flag that we won't get along. --- Mod me? You don't even know me! ... Copied to Clipboard!

Jessica Oates was furious when they told her her son was required to return a letter "citing a religious or cultural exceptioin" otherwise he needed to CUT his long hair in order to continue his education at Barbers Hill Independent School District. Why? She was aware of the dress code. It's cruel to send your kid to school knowing full well they are going to be sent home. Full Throttle posted... Do you think "long hair" for men is too girly and not right for them to have? Long hair on guys, short hair on girls in really makes no difference to me. I used to have long hair myself so you know. I however cut it short as I went for a interview for a new job. Shorter hair would fit into their dress code more. I got the job too. --- One who knows nothing can understand nothing. http://psnprofiles.com/wwinterj - http://i.imgur.com/kDysIcd.gif ... Copied to Clipboard!
