Well, the guy they wanted kept getting shit on...so there is that. And besides; Jeff fucking Hardy. JJ would never live that down if he eliminated Hardy. At least WWE didn't book something that dumb. Hardy doing a suicide diva plancha to eliminate himself but take out the Good Brothers (while also dumb) would have been a very Jeff thing to do if they wanted to protect JJ. Hardy may not even win next week. They could still course correct and give Jordan time with the Butt Brigade while Miz defends the title.

I will laugh so hard if Jordan gets booed over Dallas or Axel...it would be sickeningly disgusting, yet awesome.

Yeah but we've had people add dozens of IC title reigns to their resume and we couldn't get a month of say, Apollo Crews, Baron Corbin or Sami Zayn in the middle? Why did we need extended rivalries between Ziggler/Miz or Ambrose/Miz? These are three former World Champs for God's sake.

Like them putting the title on Ryback and then having Owens win it was actually using the title properly, and hell even the feud between Ambrose and Owens made sense given Ambrose's current spot on the roster (and he wasn't a world champ yet). But ever since WM32 it's just been "Miz holds the title until he gives it someone else temporarily who also doesn't need the belt."

Like GET THE BELT AWAY FROM MIZ HE DOES NOT NEED IT ANYMORE. His best feud during this time period had nothing to do with it!

MMA doesn't use the rematch clause, for example.

They do use rematches after title changes IF the previous Champ was so dominant for so long he or she deserves a second chance, or if the title change fight was controversial for some reason, but it's never automatic

On the flip side, I really wanted them to stop burying Emma, but she didn't look great in the ring tonight (poor selling and her hits looked weak) and her mic work right afterwards could've been a lot better. Of course, she just said the same line over and over again, but you can still make that interesting if you're good enough. Hopefully she'll do better next time so that she actually holds her own against the better wrestlers like Sasha.
