I haven't played the original Deus Ex, but Human Revolution was great.

I don't think the series will ever finish, and that's why I can't bring myself to play Mankind Divided.

definitely play the original man, I played it for the first time like 2-3 months ago and it quickly became one of my favorite games. then I played human revolution right after and goddamn I'm amazed at how good it was, the game played differently but still felt like it had that freedom from the original deus ex and connected the games together.

also sad about that. I'd play mankind divided if my computer could run it smoother

I liked them about equally too. The original took me a little to get into it cause it felt dated, but once I got over that (like in the middle of the first mission) it turned into one of the best games I ever played. A lot of thought obviously went into it

The original ending(s) are way better than the ones from huge mans resolution imo

agreed, once I got the hang of the controls and playstyles for both they turned into some of my favorite gaming experiences. they're both pretty overwhelming at first because there aren't many games that give you this degree of freedom

honestly it took til the first visit to hell's kitchen for me to really get into the original

then the stretch from the airfield to the end of hong kong... absolutely incredible. hong kong is my favorite part of the game

about halfway thru the first visit to detroit in HR is when I got into it completely

I agree about the endings

I just don't like the ending of Human Revolution. The Missing Link ship and Panchea sucked >_> Deus Ex 1 will always be my favorite

the stretch in missing link where you had to backtrack a lot kinda sucked and not having your augs sucked but its place in the story was good imo and the end of missing link was fucking awesome <_<

I liked panchaea, it wasn't really what you'd expect and was pretty eerie

the boss battle was pretty interesting too. honestly I didn't really like the endings of deus ex all that much because they were all so fucking extreme

Human revolution is great, movement, combat, etc are way better than original dues ex, but mechanics, levels, and variety are better in the original

I still haven't played Human Revolution despite acknowledging Deus Ex as one of the best games ever made. I even own a copy but things got weird with the DLC and then the Director's Cut and it kinda sounds like I need to buy it again for the definitive version?

In the end I just buried my head in the sand and ignored it.

Yeah directors cut integrates the dlc into the main story. If that's the issue I'd say either buy it for a couple bucks when a sale comes around or just obtain it through other means

Original is god tier. Human revolution does a good job of nearly getting there but those endings... ugh.

Both great games indeed
