Time to make one from my favorite anime.

Lil' Slugger (Paranoia Agent)
Villainous Male Otherworldly
Pure Support

*whirrrrrrrrr* (Trigger) -- Whenever an opposing merc's ability fails, they will become fearful with a heightened sense of dread for the week's battle. The paranoia and fears grows more intense with every subsequent failure.

THWACK! (Trigger) -- Every week, Lil' Slugger will begin the match violently clubbing an opposing merc affected by *whirrrrrrrr* in the head with a golden bat. If more than one merc is affected this way, one is chosen randomly.

Ability Upgrade:

THWACK! will now injure the merc it hits if the opposing team loses that week.

New Ability:

RAAAAAAEEEEEYAAAAA (Start of Battle; Recharge 3) -- Just like in the opening to his show, Lil' Slugger's presence brings such ruin that the only thing anyone can do is laugh. Every four weeks, anyone whose mind has been affected by abilities will be maniacally laughing at the top of their lungs for the first minute of the battle, to the detriment of anything else they're trying to do.





Build is bad but I want to make it good.

Sora Is a hard counter but they are a very niche and specialized 4.

And mind you: I'm including the fact that in the end, they are little more than meat shield who are in bronze age weaponry. They will dominate against most and then get dominated into irrelevance, unless there's a gimmicky combo made.

They cannot hold their own and prove their worth against the early mid/low mid guys. As time passes they will naturally deteriorate due to respect, which peaks at the start of their existence (barring, again, gimmicky combos).

High GP 4.
But 4.

5 is a trap where you win at first then suffer.

Funny thing is looking at the list, they probably drub most of the 4s. That's where you get a bunch of guys who can't just play "lol I'm going to ignore swords at will" or "lol I'm going to fly over your head and you can't reach me". The 4 list probably will get overwhelmed, for the most part

Then leave them as the 5 upkeep trap you have to work a team around, if that's the concern. Not where they should be but hey, if that's where the pricing ends up, okay.

Not the M4 4s list I don't think

Doomguy moshes them, so does Duke, Lu Bu and Ky have army soloing feats, Alucard uses them as HP bags with SOUL STEAL, etc

The rest who lose lose because they're squishy, stealthy or limited gunners who probably should be 3s by default and are nulled vs a mob of infinite dudes, or are Death who has kinda suspect deeps

I mean I hope I'm clear on my view here. I'm of the camp of "if everyone understands what he is, fine, do it and move on." No Merc is worth too much time and when you're such a niche where either you win or you lose, that's what you've got. they have a specific range of respect due to the gimmick, which would drop over time.

But hey, not my game far as I know. Don't get stuck is all.

The upkeep system is the same. We can adjust the ranges each tier covers if need be, but the system itself is useful. Since we've yet to adjust the upkeep tiers, we're sticking with the idea that a merc of equal upkeep to a videogame guy should be just as valuable. So for example, if Tracer is a 4/week, a 4/week movie merc should be able to have a decent match with her - which I don't see for the spartans vs her if she's not stuck in a cage because they straight up can't hit her.

I don't mean the videogame 4s, I mean the TV mercs currently occupying the 4 slots. Way different power scaling going on here from the looks of things (M4 had Ky Kiske occupying a 4 slot. The strongest TV merc offensively I see under 4s is probably Carrie, to put the difference in perspective)

And these spearmen aren't even riding motorcycles (on top of other motorcycles).

Equating The 300 with 300 spearmen isn't accurate. The whole point of the 300 is that they work as a solid contained unit, not individual soliders unless absolutely necessary.

They basically create a massive wall of shields Shadow doesn't penetrate
