A volunteer firefighter has been suspended after allegedly suggesting he would rather save a dog than a black person from a fire.

Tyler Roysdon, 20, of Franklin Township, Ohio, made the racist comments on Facebook, according to local station WHIO. Screenshots obtained by the station show Mr Roysdon suggesting he would rather save a dog because “one dog is more important than a million *******”.

A woman identifying herself as Mr Roysdon’s wife commented on Facebook to say that her husband had apologised, according to Fox 19.

“Everyone deserves a second chance and is also entitled to their own opinion,” she reportedly wrote.

Sure they should. They should not be entitled to botch about it though when they get treated like the racist peice of shit they are though and the consequences start rolling in.

I actually love reading stories like this and the inevitable fallout and watching their lives slowly disintegrate. I don't advocate violence by any means, but don't go crying to anybody when your business declines drastically or tou lose your job because of you chose to voice your opinions.

That's pretty bad. And I honestly hope that suspension is of a more permanent variety.

I sure as hell wouldn't want someone who's supposed to rescue people to willfully choose not to rescue people because of their race.

And no dumbass you dont get to have that opinion if you're a fire fighter. He explicitly stated he values a human life less if their skin black.

The only order of rescue i imagine acceptable is children first then elderly.

Exactly. This is a big reason why I believe hate speech should be protected: makes it a hell of a lot easier to identify the shit heads of the world. By and far, they're too dumb to keep their opinions to themselves and always fall back on "muh free speech!"
I work HR, and you better believe if I'm considering a candidate, they're FB account gets perused before they get a phone call.
