sorry to keep asking this question. But where are we at on the ROM types? Will any SNES rom type work. like .SMC, or .SFC etc. Or does it have to be a specific rom type?

.smc and sfc. It converts them to what's necessary from there automatically.

I do not know what that is or I would have answered, sorry.

It can add retroarch which apparently has a bunch of stuff on it, if that means anything

question about the naming of the ROMS I am downloading my list of ROMS now. Simply because I have so many games starting with "Super" I'd like to rename them into their proper titles...just without the super. If I do that before I load into hakachi or my snes (just rename the file while on my computer), will this have an adverse effects? Will it show up in the SNES classic library in the alphabetical order of it's new title (say under M for mario world instead of S for super mario world?)?

pretty sure once you load them up into hakchi you can rename them in there without editing the ROM file name and they'll appear in alphabetical order

Hakchi will open them with the correct names (Super Mario World, etc.), however I believe you can change the names in Hakchi itself before you sync them over to the SNES

here it is

Finished hacking my SNES Classic for the most part. Some games still aren't working yet, but I'll figure those out in time. There isn't enough space to put the entire SNES collection on there so I had to pick and choose the stuff I thought was worth putting on there. Boosting the library from 21 games to 126 or so with a combination of english games japanese games with english fan translations.

It walks you through 99% of it and for the rest of it there's YouTube videos out there.

I've yet to find a good video though it shows you how to do it and put retroarch on at the same time for the problem games

I had to figure that part out on my own

There is a fantastic step by step tutorial on minisnesmods that walks you through it, both regular and retroarch

How hard is it to get the bells and whistles (box arts and release dates) for these games? The little I've seen makes it seem like you need to find and save that stuff individually for each game.

There's a feature in the program that finds the box art for you. You have to do it for each game, but it's super easy.

It fills out the release dates automatically.

It automatically Google's box arts for you sometimes it messes up and you can fix it

The release dates and publisher are already in there for most of the North American release stuff but none of the Japanese stuff so you'll have to fill in that yourself

When you added the module, did you add both the retroarch one and the snes9x one, or just one?

At the end of the command line of every game you want to use retroarch you need to add " --retroarch"

That's a space, two hyphens than the word retroarch immediately after the 2nd hyphen

That's the thing that I was trying to figure out last night for like 2 hours

I didn't think so. oh well. But no thanks, I only want the native emulator on the mini snes.I have plenty of other devices that can play roms, I want to keep my snes classic...pure in a sense. (though I realize installing roms kind of makes me hypocritical. I guess it's my definition of pure.)
