It was a bit awkward at first but after a while it was really comforting to know they cared and it was nice to not have to deal with those mundane things so we could deal with our grief. It was a bit awkward at first but after a while it was really comforting to know they cared and it was nice to not have to deal with those mundane things so we could deal with our grief. Same when my dad died. It was actually a bit overwhelming; we ended up with far more food than we could possibly eat on our own. His coworkers had the good sense to recognize that, and instead of actual food, they pooled their money and bought us gift certificates for nearby restaurants. We had another guy make two huge lasagnas and freeze both of them so we didn't have to eat them immediately. We still ended up throwing out a lot, but it was very nice to not have to worry about food for a couple weeks. --- This is my signature.
