How this whole thing started was kaepernick didn't stand up during the national anthem last year. Instantly after the game got a backlash and he said he didn't stand in protest. Imo this whole time I just think he didn't want to stand and had to come up with some excuse

Unfortunately that comes with the territory of being famous. Have you really only noticed this happening to athletes? It happens to anyone who has controversial opinions that make the news. It's just easier to make the news when you're famous

At the risk of implying that some people are racist, I don't see why these football protests became such a big deal. If it offends you to see players disrespecting the flag, can't you just not watch the games and email the team to let them know why? If you have season tickets that you want to cancel, I bet the team would even let you do so if you threatened to give them bad publicity.

You're allowed to cancel season tickets at any time. The teams don't care since it means they can just sell them again.
