The girl is awesome, very nice, makes my day brighter as her happiness just spreads wherever she is.

The problem is that she has a boyfriend, I am a total dweeb, and the fact that she is one of the RA's in my Hall, which means she would lose her job if she dates a resident.

I still feel like doing something to at least let her know I like her.

it can be hard to not develop a crush. not doing anything about though is doable. I had a crush on a married woman once but I would never cross that line so I kept the shit to myself.

though it was a light crush to be honest its not like I went home and fantasized about her. but I really enjoyed days she worked the same shift as me.

Agreed. It's cool to think "she's hot" or something along those lines but crushing on someone is a obsession and being obsessed over someone who isn't available and/or interested is futile. In the end you'll end up resenting her because she's happy with another guy.

Well I've been in a tepidly similar situation before, and let me tell you: stop thinking about it. If you let your mind wander you'll just build up this romanticized vision of her and then you'll either

A. Not be able to make anything come of it.

Or

B. Make some progress but realize that who she actually is comes nothing close to the pedestal you've put her on, and thus be turned off by the disappointment.

Just don't let yourself think about her too much and move on with life.

That is the thing though. I can't help but fantasize heavily over whoever I have a crush on.

I usually don't. I have liked 4 girls before this, and only the 1st one knew that I liked her. That was because I told a friend that I liked her, and he eventually spilled the beans.

Only my 2 closest friends know who girls 1-3 are, and girls 2 and 3 are only known because they were able to take the few hints I gave and find out themselves. I guess I am just tired of keeping all my thoughts to myself. I just want to tell someone, so my mind is not burdened.

yeah, even if you do it in a subtle way, I told a girl my brother was dating once that it was a shame she met him first. she acted all flattered and seemed cool with it but next thing I know my brother is pissed as fuck. and that was literally all I said to her, I didn't hit on her or try to imply that I wanted to come between them.

I was just noting the fact we seemed to get along with each other better than she and him did.

I realize that not telling her, or letting her know is the right thing. It just took a bit for me to finally have a 5th crush, and I was hoping when it would happen, I would have more of a chance this time.
