Nah, not my thing. I'd perfectly find driving a clunker as long as it gets me where I need to go.

no. While I can appreciate a nice looking car. I ultimately see a car as something from getting from point A to point B.

I guess I would if I were guy. I've had some fine cars, Corvettes, a Camaro, an Austin-Healy, a Fiat twincam. Currently a Celica Turbo and a Supra, both with Stage 1 mods.

Same. In case my car has a problem, it'd be nice to be able to easily determine what it is and how to go about fixing it myself. I'm pretty clueless beyond the very basics haha

I try to know enough to be able to do basic maintenance or simple fixes on my own and to kinda gauge whether or not certain repairs/cost from my mechanic makes sense.

Yeesh! 3 yes, 27 no is the current vote! No wonder racing games aren't discussed much here. One of the great things in Gran Turismo, Forza, Test Drive, Tokyo Xtreme, etc. is racing cars that I and my friends and family have owned and driven in real life.

With racing games, and much like flight sim games, I feel you need the whole setup with steering wheel, pedals, joystick, to get that in-game experience. Unless one is really into those kinda games, that is extra stuff that to buy and keep around.

I think one friend of mine actually bought some racing chairs with the built-in feedback. Though this same friend and a few others are really into cars and actually bought a Miata together to mod. Currently he himself bought some ol car, dunno which model, took out everything, cleaned up the frame/chassis, and is planning to install all sorts of new stuff into it. Definitely a hobby of his, but a pricey one.

With fighting games though, I have been told fightsticks makes a difference compared to controller which is probably why the majority of said players have fightsticks.

Id rather have a gray car with a top speed of 80 that will never break than a 100,000$ *insert expensive car brand here*

You reeeeeeally don't, but when you're looking to up your game and get that much more out of the game, it adds lots.

Getting a wheel is like buying an expansion pack for post game content that's as big as the original game and seats and shit are like small DLC and cosmetics.

What about a used car modded from the ground up for reliance for less than a crappy new car?

Ya, there's even a scene for ecomodding which effectively amounts to converting your car in to a boat to cut through the air better. I have iridium tipped spark plugs in my car to get a more efficient burn and avoid misfires.

Yes, that's a real thing! I bought my Supra for $1200, have put another $4000 in it, including the custom 2 1/2" catback exhaust.. The turbo Celica, $3200 plus $3000. Just replaced the timing belt on the Celica, shop wanted $600, I did the work myself with less than $100 in parts.

Then my second question is how? W58s go for $5k alone, let alone the rest of the collectable mk4.

MA61 Supra MKII, the P-type, with all the good factory options, fiberglass fender flares, wide wheels, roof-mounted wing, limited-slip differential. The one with the Lotus-designed suspension. The one that looks like a DeLorean from the rear and a Mustang Mach 1 from the side. Great piece of machinery!

NOTE: seriously? $5k for a W58? Wow!
