Because his breath STAYS smelling like that awful white stuff you flosse out of your teeth. I don't have the heart to tell him that maybe he should stop drinking, because that stuff dries out his gums and makes his breath problem worse

Just be like my bro, walk up to him casually and say "You know, you really need to remember to keep your oral health in check, it smells like something died in there"

Then don't be surprised when he looks at you and says "...Fuck you"

Then he'll probably feel bad about it and apologize later, but you really should have been more sensitive in getting your point across

It's just... how do I tell my dad that his breath stinks? That seems like something my mom should do

I do believe it is something your mom should do. I do not actually have any good advice when it comes to this scenario, as I don't know the answer myself.

I will just give you my opinion, that if he chooses to be ignorant regarding the way his breath smells, maybe he doesn't deserve a clean mouth, seeing as it was something he could've brought upon himself o_o

I keep thinking about it, and the different ways one could look at this topic can actually get pretty deep

All I know is I'm not going to be the one to tell someone their breath stinks, with me I already know because I smoke and I have a tooth with a hole in it, so I have to keep extra mindfulness of when I am presentable, but I feel like everyone should already know when their breath stinks and whether or not they are in people's face with it.
