Tried the Nighmare run. I turtled a bit too much in the last bit so I gout overwhelmed. Gonna swap EV for Luneth and see if the lost mitigation is fine.

Made my first Nightmare attempt, and did pretty good until I got overconfident and forgot to drain his MP. I will say that the first several turns were easier than they should have been because I had DV friend that had higher HP than anyone else in my party, so the king never got any MP for his big spell until he started Soul Siphoning the party. It was kind of awesome.

Is there any chance of taking on Bahamut if you don't have a fully TMR'ed team? I was considering waiting until I could get Reberta up and running, but if he's so difficult that I don't stand a chance, I might as well just gun for him while people still have Garnets up.

With crap prep he can hit hard if your spr is too low. Plus you need a good debuffing going.

Hmmm, might be willing to try at least on my own. Worst-case, I'm sure I can beg a Garnet with Bahamut off of someone if I can't do it and decide to cheese it in a few weeks. It's not like I have a good stock of Magicite to feed him anyway, since I've still been leveling my other espers.

i kind of don't have much to use my EN on beyond story and side missions right now. and with the skeleton king being nerfed despite being pretty easy for a "major boss," even the 5 man team shouldn't be difficult, dual A2 + party buffer + P Shield + breaker will easily do that, no tank needed.

i assume enhancements will give her TDH with a 150% modifier to raise the viability of that.
...though i think japan's hybrid damage formula is a bit different than ours, in that it'd make her stronger no less.

so DW will probably be here to stay for her.

I'm still boggled as to why Lightning is getting True Dual Wield... or even had Dual Wield at all to begin with (other than power creep). I didn't play FFXIII-3, but I don't ever recall her having the ability to Dual Wield... ever... except maybe in fan art.

I used an interesting tactic on that. Had WoL break armor, Ayaka boost Spr/Mag, and have Rikku use her limit. The Fryeviarmy did a triple Frost Flower Blitz, and everyone else got nuked to death (they revived and ended up with 1 HP each), and that's all they needed to send Bahamut into the icy abyss.

You let me know about Fry's super tanking ability with Illusionist Nichol, that's worth more to me than any amount of carries. I'm already plotting out the evil things I can do with that. So many options!

how did this work given all the smaller megaflare hits on the end? i don't use wol/fryevia or have ayaka so there's probably something in their kits i'm missing

Ugh, just tried my second Nightmare attempt, and the skill lockouts still aren't working. He healed himself with Eternal Torment and proceeded to blast me with Shadow Storm (maybe Hailfire, I don't remember) immediately afterwards. I wouldn't mind if the first half of the fight didn't take forever trying to build the esper gauge twice. Gonna wait and see if they do a hotfix at some point, and if not, I'll just have to pray.

my bad... yea, it does seem that the lockouts aren't working, but the decreased chances has. I remember having a bit more room to breathe.

Ah, so it can still Eternal Torment and go into Hailfire, which is still an auto-wipe. See, I knew they had done the lockout, I just thought that applied to all of his MP-based damage skills. Apparently not. So the main issue I'm running into is I'm just not doing damage fast enough. With chaining I can only knock off about 15% of his HP at a time, and none of my finishers are built up. My last run was 2x Orlandeau, Zarg, Tilith, WoL, and a friend Orlandeau. I have a good rotation down, it's just a matter of not getting RNG-screwed. Maybe I'm going to have to try and bring a finisher instead of a second Orlandeau, even if they don't have the best gear.

Yea, that was the change I needed. I had WoL, Tillith, Rikku, Fry, EV and Friend Fry, but the mitigation was meh, so I swapped EV for Luneth. Helped with the MP drain cause lance and could get 10-ish% off on a capped chain.

I think I'll swap out for FV, since he combos well with Orlandeaus. I got several more Undead Killers to put on him and my Orlandeau, he can get Odin as an Esper, and until I summon my twin espers, he can also get a Pod to throw up the physical damage mitigation WoL needs to survive. I'll not try this plan until tomorrow, but hopefully it'll work. Just wish I could get him a light-elemental weapon. Stupid Excaliburs not being finished yet.

If Fryevia has over 20% HP shell go to one HP if she would have normally died, so it takes an extra hit to bring her down. Then she revives from Rikku and it does the same thing again. The other units all end up dead but because of the extra 2 hits needed to kill her she ends up staying alive.

Just wasted a half a days worth of energy. Went back on nightmare to get my 3 tickets because the friend unit I used the first time had a holy counter, forgot to check that the TT I was bringing had confuse immunity. Ended up stalling because Tilith had to spend time giving her confuse resist through Lakshmi, and those turns were needed to keep the parties MP up. Wondering if its worth swapping out Rikkus hyper nulall for Maries status and elemental protection if I run into that next time.

So the producers have rethought how to get Super TMRs. You still need two dupes of the 7* unit to get it, but they don't have to be 7* dupes, they can 5*-7*. You also don't need to have maxed the base unit's regular TMR anymore.

The first dupe fused will give 5% to the unit's original TMR, 50% to the STMR and a 50% ALL trust moogle. Second dupe will finish the STMR.

This is a step in the right direction, but still not ideal. STMRs are also being delayed. Still no word on changes for 7*s.

I dont want to send the person a pm and have them change their unit for something I need, they could be sharing it that way for something else (likely Bahamut). I think I can get by without it anyway :)

I know logically it makes no sense since so many people love setting up their companion units (myself included) to help. I actually like getting requests from people, but my brain doesnt want to ask anyone else either. Dont really get why I think that way.
