Wilson added that EA was "merciless" with the budget for Dead Space 2, suggesting it could have been higher. Maybe I'm missing something, but it sounds like EA made a smart move and knew it wasn't a big seller. I don't like EA for various reasons, but it's kind of hard to argue for more money when your game couldn't put up numbers to justify the cash you did get. ... Copied to Clipboard!

If it cost $60M to make and sold 4 million copies at $60 each, it didn't lose them money. It may not have turned enough of a profit to justify keeping the studio or franchise around, but it definitely did turn a profit.

Well, it's not "at $60 each" because they sell for a far lower price to retailers.
