Do you carry cash in your wallet?

I haven't carried cash in about two years and it's been really nice. I hear a lot of folks say you need to carry at least a few bucks at any given time, but I haven't seen any need for it in all this time. At least where I live there aren't any places that don't have at minimum a smart phone/tablet attachment for reading cards, so cash has become completely meaningless.

I'd like to think we'll hit a paperless society in the nearish future but I know a lot of places still have plenty of catching up to do on that front. What do other folks think?

Not more than 20 bucks. But that's because I regularly play rec ball and can't use a card. If I didn't I would not. Gotta get all my points on my cc.

Never unless I plan on specifically using it that day for something like I'll still pay cash for a haircut because it's easier to tip

No. Cash is annoying to carry around. I use my card for everything. In the rare instance I need cash, I just hit an ATM beforehand.

Things cash is good for include farmer's markets (not everyone has the cell phone thingy for plastic), haircuts (my barber shop doesn't even take debit cards - just cash and cheque. And I've asked about debit, which has replaced cheques entirely), purchases under $3, and paying people back the money you owe them.

So I carry cash a lot. I don't give any to the cigarette-smoking beggars that keep annoying me to give them money, though, and I never have more than $40 on me (and only get that much when I know I'm going to need that much).

I usually carry a token amount ($15 or so) but I basically never use it

edit: oh yeah I forgot about haircuts, cash for that since they don't take credit

Only if I'm getting a haircut or going to the laundromat. Venmo has largely replaced my need to have cash on me all the time.

There are multiple businesses I use that are cash only. But I'll use my card whenever possible.

I actually have a problem keeping cash in my wallet as I tend to use that up first then resort to the card.

I carry cash to tip.

Even if you use your card to pay for the tip I guess that the waitress prefers cash.

I usually carry anywhere from $10-40. I go to festivals and conventions and shows kinda often and have to pay for my parking pass with cash too, so I usually just have some on me.

I carry a good amount (usually between 100/200), but mostly use my card for everything so I rarely need to refill

And I've recently gotten into using venmo like everyone else, so that's best for paying friends

But every once in a while I'm so relieved that I have paper dollars in my pocket, mostly in situations others here have already described

You did indeed stab me in the back. However, you are only level one, whilst I am level 50. That means I should remain uninjured.
