fast food should also be a treat not a regular meal. I only got it in one of two ways as a kid. once a month for maintaining good grades and behavior. or if we where on a lengthy trip somewhere.

I don't know but they used to have Star Wars tie in stuff in the 90s. Or the odd movie thing. I remember Godzilla was one.

I guess now that Star Wars is Disney and McDonald's has the monopoly there they wouldn't be able to any longer

they did, i totally got a darth vader cup and some weird squishy godzilla egg toy from there in the '90s.

Taco Bell / Pizza Hut / KFC all had kids meals and toys. and when the prequels for Star Wars came out, they were the places with Star Wars toys.



This was the kind of cup I got from the OT re-release

tbh, I don't really see ads for any place's kids meals. Granted, I don't really watch cartoons or anything these days. Probably beats the ads I get stuck seeing, though.

Yeah, I remember their kids meals. They gave out like Phantom Menace pogs or something at one point. Plus they had Kamen Rider toys at a time when I had no clue what Kamen Rider was.

Remember when you would always see ads for the latest kids' movie toys in the kids meals? Come to think of it, there's a lot of commercials you never really see anymore. It's all car insurance and prescription drugs these days.

depends on the oatmeal, if its plain oatmeal its heavily disliked (yes you can add things to it to make it taste better) still pretty ****ing bad.

prefer the fruit and cream variety of quaker instant. used to consume those infrequently in my 20's.

It consists solely of fiber and slow carbs. Both are good nutrients, but not enough by themselves. Oatmeal needs to be complemented by foods rich in fat and protein. As a breakfast meal, bacon and eggs would be a nice combo.

BK, on the other hand, serves their oatmeal with applesauce. Something that's basically only sugar. That meal is nothing but carbs, and thus extremely unhealthy.

Oatmeal with chicken nuggets, or with a bunless burger would be a great meal.

I recall seeing those, but they looked kinda chintzy. Back when BK did metal cards for Pokemon, they had some gold-plating, were thick, and had a commemorative Pokeball case... although I think they were also sold separately, so it might not be fair.

Oh, and then there was a later one when BK did movable action feature cards. I think I wound up buying the Articuno one either while in a shop or on ebay (or maybe even Yahoo Auctions? Which was a thing once upon a time).



Apparently it even had sound. That was one cool card. Wonder if I still have it.

I agree with this. I'm all for people wanting to be healthy, but if you want to be healthy why would you ever eat fast food or want fast food places to have this healthy food?

For the same reason that most people get fast food

Speed and convenience. Maybe you need to grab lunch for your kid on the quick and didn't really have anything planned out. When we take care of our nieces we will often take them to chick-fil-a and get them the grilled nuggets since they aren't fried and they love them

I usually only got it if my parents went into the city for something and I was tagging along. The town I grew up in didn't even have a fast food restaurant until I was in high school. There was a family dinner, and a more "high end" restaurant. That was it.

I can actually count the number of kids meals I have ever eaten on one hand.

well I was speaking as if there wasn't the option obviously. if there is a option this debate is moot. but seriously I think having the option is always the best route, kids meals should have the unhealthy options as well. as I said in a earlier post fast food/junk food should be treats for kids not their normal eating habit.
