Because of all the preconceived notions people had long before the movie actually came out, it was going to have trouble no matter how funny it was. Even if all the critics agreed that it was better than the original, it still would've struggled. --- Who's your favorite character from "Bend It Like Beckham"? What I saw of it was so bad, I feared watching it in its entirety might result in being committed.
