Yeah, it resets everything back to the starting teams/stats/abilities. Means you can get all Wakka's overdrives in 24-26 games, which is still a lot.

I knocked out 3 enemies

and the goalie still stopped it, despite me having more than 30 shot points on him

.....not a good start!

You're pretty much done. You can unlock some semi-useful items, but it's not an efficient way to get them.

It's not fun, but the rewards are pretty great and it opens up a ton of optional bosses and stuff.

You also need to do at least some of it to get the Sigil that boosts Auron's best weapon.

she told us a pretty ominous story about how Summoner Gandalf kicked Sin's ass but Sin blew everything up

I didn't think she had such a dark role! I always laughed when i saw her playing blitzball!

I bought some of the capture weapons and I will say I AM Relieved they do normal damage

I was expecting them to do like 100 damage for some reason

you know how theres different tiers of little rock dudes, or wolves, or flying eyeballs that you encounter as you progress through the game?

Do you have to capture EACH of them? or will like, 10 of just one of them suffice?

Yes ten of every monster and variant, they're not fucking around.

Also unless you wanna do all the endgame stuff the rewards take so long to pay off you can completely ignore it. I've forgotten what this playthrough is hoping to achieve.

Apparently I'm pretty good at the lightning dodging! I just can't really deal with popping in and out of battles while I'm doing it. I think once I get a no Encounter armor, I can do it no problem.

There's one particular permutation of the race course that's considered ideal for winning, the one where there are a bunch of balloons on the opening stretch of the course. You've gotta be able to get ahead of her quickly to get those balloons though.
