Also yes, the chocobo racing can be absolutely brutal. First time I ever tried doing it, took my friend and I 3 hours to pull it off. I can do it quicker now, but man the rage. Not to mention those fucking birds literally being there to piss you the fuck off. Not sure why they hate chocobos so much.

One of my more amusing recollections was in an earlier exercise, when blitzballs were flying at Tidus as he tried to ride the chocobo to the finish line. I always imagined Wakka somewhere beyond that, just throwing blitzballs at us, and yelling, "dodge this one, ya?" as he did so. Still makes me crack up to this day.

It usually takes me about an hour due to the randomness, but I've done it like 7 times already, so that's pretty good

I've had playthroughs where I've done it in less that ten minutes, and some where I've sat there for hours trying to get it.

On my first playthrough I got it on my third or fourth try and wondered what all the fuss was about.

Oh hey, this topic is back! FFX is one of if not my favorite FF, but I've never 100% it because it's tedious as fuck and I play games for fun and entertainment, not tedious bullshit.

Yeah FFX is a top 3 game for me, but even I gave up after maxing out a couple sphere grids.

It'd be fair to say you 100% FFX after having unlocked and beaten all of the bonus bosses and unlocked all of the Celestial Weapons. It's silly to force yourself to complete the Sphere Grid, especially considering how you can fuck it up and not be able to max every stat.

Lightning sucks, but it doesn't take long, same with the race. Butterflies is easy. Capturing ten of every monster is time consuming, but not nearly as much as trying to max the grid is.

If it wasn't required for a trophy I wouldn't have attempted to do it, I agree it's overkill.

I actually was planning on filling out the sphere grid with everyone for shits and giggles. Is it really that much of a pain in the ass?

Well that depends. You can abuse tricks to get AP quickly and can easily use all the nodes on the grid. The problem is if you want to stat max, especially Luck. Some nodes you will have to delete and replace with better bonuses e.g. deleting a +1 in strength and replacing it with a +4 instead. But luck requires a fair bit of grinding certain bonus bosses that over and over and over again.

The bosses at the Monster Arena are unique enemies. Well, they're recolors of other enemies, mostly, but they have unique stats. They're also good for farming certain drops.

The higher end ones are harder than anything you'll face in the main game though.

You get different prizes depending on how many chests you open along the way, but you have to win the race, too, to collect them.

Wings to Discovery (the one you get for three chests) is probably the one you want most because it allows you to craft Break HP Limit on one of your armors. They're pretty hard to come by, too.

it probably has something to do with the spiraling camera, but Tidus keeps running into the right wall
