fallout 4 was good until the last third of the story where they started making it about a war for mankind and not the whole synth issue. i was stoked to explore the moral/ethical issues around the synths but instead you basically go right into some faction war where you are required to join a side for some reason. it felt lazy and rushed. still a good game tho

Fo4 brotherhood at least had a cogent set of beliefs and motivations. And the institute can't even govern itself well enough to prevent an armed uprising among its staff

If you want literally slaves, why the floppity fuck would you go out of your way to make them analogous to humans, right down to their intelligence? To get off on some power trip? Fucking...make them like R2D2 or something. Why are you making humans, basically, to oppress them. Like read a fucking book. You don't even need to take a casual glance at any science fiction story ever to know why that's stupid. Just look at human history. How you gonna think oh that's a good idea, let's replicate humanity to act as slaves.

The Railroad, in comparison, while presented on the surface as "here's your faction, liberals" because Bethesda is either lazy or just wanted to feel relevant, when you get down to it, their entire existence is basically based off looking at what the Institute is doing, and going, "That's fucking stupid how dumb are these shitbirds" and that automatically makes them smarter.

Then the Brotherhood of Steel, the fucking Brotherhood of Steel, they're just raving hypocritical dumbasses high off their own machismo they have in lieu of a functioning brain. Waah waah humanity doesn't deserve advanced technology, they proved that! But what's that you say? We're all humans hoarding it? But "We're different! We're the good ones!"

Fuck off, BoS. More like Brotherhood of Bullshit. They're like if all the worst people in the military who just joined for no other reason but to kill "bad guys" and feel like they're finally wearing bigboy pants all formed a new group. They're basically the faction for people who get boners at the military hardware porn of games like Call of Duty. The BoS don't have a single shred of intelligence in their meathead brains.

The Minutemen, while kind of a joke, at least they don't get bogged down with their head so far up their ass with pie in the sky philosophies, that they just actually do good. All they're about is "hey a lot of people need help. let's band together and try to help"
