I'm back to playing this one now that I'm done with all the other anime games out this year. Not too far yet but the visuals and music are easily the best Compile Heart has ever done

And those class outfits. Not at all practical

That's dumb. I really liked that Rider's design. And she had to go and die before she could actually do anything. I still question how the hell it was Rider though. I didn't see any kind of mount. Also, is it revealed later, or is her name never gonna be mentioned?

Shinji should have died and Rider work with someone else or something.

I was meh on the SK series and then it hit some dark parts and that's when I got hooked. Unfortunately, people laugh when I say I play it for the plot <_<

Yeah, the amount they play a role varies enormously depending on the route. Rider has the least importance in UBW. Normal importance in Fate, and very significant importance in Heavens Feel.

I can give a breakdown of how important each servant is in each route if you want.

Not necessarily. Look at Gilles de Rais in Fate Zero. Dude's name and noble phantasm weren't related at all. Alexander gave his name really early in Fate Zero and I had no clue what his noble phantasm was until he used it. Neither's name revealed weaknesses either.

Now if say someone had summoned Achilles, then I could see his name being a big deal.

An alternate timeline.
The synopsis:
The setting is a parallel world to Fate/stay night where the Greater Grail mysteriously disappeared from Fuyuki after the Third Holy Grail War. After many years of silence, around the same time as the Fifth Holy Grail War would have happened, the Yggdmillennia, a family of magi, openly declares their secession from the Mage's Association, and that they are in possession of the Grail. The Association dispatches fifty magi to retrieve it, and all but one are instantly slaughtered by a mysterious Servant. The one remaining manages to activate the reserve system of the Greater Grail, allowing for the summoning of fourteen Servants in total.

In the city of Trifas, two factions will fight for the control of the sacred relic, each of them possessing their own team of seven Servants: the Black Faction whose members are part of Yggdmillennia, protecting the Grail, and the Red Faction whose members were sent by the Mage's Association, trying to take the Grail back. For an event of this scale, the Grail itself summons its own Servant, the holy Ruler, to oversee the conflict.

This marks the start of the Great Holy Grail War.

I was gonna point out that everyone is being an ass to Archer, but it turns out Protag is just being Tsundere.

I got a theory forming regarding Archer. Already know something is different about him. They haven't given his name because he can't remember. Protag just basically copied Archer's power. Archer fixed his arm claiming he had something similar happen to him. Then they talk, and the way he talked about things almost sounded like a more bitter version of Protag.

Alright, now hear me out. This is pretty out there. But what if, Archer IS Protag. Like a more bitter future version or something. And Protag didn't copy, but inspired his own power. Like some Wibbly Wobbly Timey Wimey stuff.

You just set yourself for a catch 22 with that post pop, better not ask about that unless you want spoilers.

Alright, the importance of each class in each route
Saber: Always important, obviously. They are the main character's servant. However, breaking it down. Fate=The most important servant, as it's her route. UBW=Fairly significant. HF=Very significant.
Archer:Fate=Significant, UBW=The most important servant, HF=Fairly irrelevant
Lancer:Significant in all routes, however he never really shines in any of them more than the other by much. UBW is when he is at his best.
Caster:Fate=Significant, UBW=Very significant, HF=Fairly insignificant
Rider:Fate=Significant, UBW=Extremely insignificant, HF=Extremely important
Assassin:Fate=Decently important, UBW=Extremely insignificant, HF=Very important
Berserker:Fate=Extremely important, UBW=Fairly important, HF=Insignificant
