I stayed in all week. Other members in the house weren't sick but they had a cold a few weeks ago. Suddenly I got a bad cold with headaches. Is it possible they still carried the virus after they were better

Yes, that is the case with many types of virus - after the symptoms have gone it can still be active to spread itself.

In HIV circles you can be undetectable. You basically have the virus under control with medication. But (obviously) you still have it and it can be passed on...though it would be harder to do than for somebody who wasnt taking meds.

There's about a week or so after the symptoms stop where they're still carrying it.
