They could have easily continued it with the Switch. But now we have a dead icon on the Wii U and 3DS, and unlikely for it to be patched out, but Nintendo doesn't care, seeing how the Wii U is no longer supported, and the 3DS will likely be discontinued soon.

They're phasing out Miis and it's about time. New console, new ideas.

I think its funny that for years all I saw were people bashing it, saying how much it sucks, how unnecessary it was etc. etc. and now that its gone, people suddenly cared about it and miss it.

Avatars are dumb and Nintendo never did anything with them other than a select few games.

Now give us the option to make anatomically correct avatars with big double d's and bikini's made of floss and tiny star stickers and... I might change my mind ;)

Was it? Because Nintendo was pretty stern about not actually sharing your friend code over the Miiverse. Nintendo hates the idea of strangers playing together almost as much as they hate the idea of strangers talking to each other.
