The school is getting a repaved gym, updated athletic uniforms, etc. It's not like they're throwing away all the memorabilia in terms of old trophies and such that were branded as such. Lee and the Confederacy lost, was in Texas. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Battle_of_Palmito_Ranch We have plenty of people that are from this state or served in this state or this country that are more worthwhile to represent this state. I mean, I don't have a problem, at all, with it in Virginia and the states that were actual participants in the Confederacy, but Texas' presence in the Confederacy literally started with replacing Sam Houston, the first president of the Republic of Texas who was the 7th governor, when he resigned. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Texas_in_the_American_Civil_War I see no fucking reason for there to be any of that shit in this state.
