BvS's one good thing is that shortly after the really shitty title fight, you get possibly the best live action fight sequence in all of Batman live-action history.

Metropolis and Gotham are on opposite sides of a large river or something like that in the comics. It's not much different from the movie version. I don't think they're close enough that a tiny news helicopter can reach it, though.

I think those criticisms of MOS are weak. It was an all-out brawl in which the entire planet was at stake. He did what he had to do to put Zod down.

Though for different reasons, I think that scene does highlight a reoccurring flaw in this cinematic universe. It spends so much time trying to convince the audience of the tonal departure of its characters, and yet hinges key character developments entirely on the assumption of their previous incarnations.

Superman having to kill someone only matters if we're talking about the Superman we're familiar with. But that's not the Superman of the DCEU. Sure, this Superman seems like a nice enough guy and all, but there's no real indication that he feels the same incredibly strong moral obligation to not kill his enemies. And so it all falls flat.
