Just beat the game, figured I'd get the survival trophy while doing housework around the house.

This reminds me of my other favorite final fantasy: XII. Except that got me experience at least. I don't even think there's AP bonuses for going anywhere on foot.

Really weird that there's a requirement for places reached on foot, and yet walking anywhere in FFXV on foot is possibly the least fun experience to be had in any video game ever. Walking takes forever, and running lasts about 10 seconds (and doesn't go much faster)

Despite FFXV's obvious flaws I have to say this game is considerably overhated on this board. It's hard to rank XV but it's definitely better than the weak entries to the series like XIII, X, and VI (all fine games, but also drastically flawed) It's really open, and the best part of the game (or any FF game): hunts, is available right off the bat. You can do hours and hours of hunts before you even tackle the main story. The quests are pretty mundane, and the characters that give you the quests feel like they were a randomly matched up voice actor and character model, but they're a fun distraction. There's enough skill involved that you can take on fights out of your league if you're good enough at cheesing the system.

The story isn't really there, but honestly FF is about the characters, never really about the story, and I liked all the main characters despite wanting them to be more diverse. Even Cindy was cool, and she would have been even cooler if she wasn't specifically designed to be eye candy.

Customizing your car is neat, I really liked that I could put bullet holes on the hood, which of course, make the car go faster.

Overall a pretty fun game and worth my time.

The game had way too many problems. FFX and FFVI are among the weakest entries for me too but they actually had strong vision and direction and the pieces complemented each other even if I didn't like all the pieces.

I like some of FFXV's pieces but even the core battle mechanics left way too much to be desired. At the end of the day I had a solid 80 hours of fun that I don't regret of course, but it really left me wanting something that could actually stick the execution better.

They really didn't manage to. MGSV for example passed it off way better (most people think it was just missing an ending when really it was missing an entire middle and most of the beginning too).

XV at least has a beginning middle and end, even if it's a barebones slideshow. It's satisfying to finish, like reading a draft of a screenplay.

X is fine, maybe drastically flawed is the wrong word. It's just a little too dated in relation to all the other FF which are timeless. playing FFVI for the first time in 2015 felt like I was playing a fresh new experience. FFX just feels like a kind of ok PS2 RPG.

I really didn't mind the barebones story of FFXV, although I wish the majority of the world exploring happened before Insomnia was destroyed. When it was a road trip to meet your wife, it made sense to take your time, look around, take some quests.

After the insomnia event though, it does feel a little weird to be road tripping and looking at sights together.

I appreciated the short and simple story. Less is more, you know? Usually FFXV has a lot of weird fluff stuffed into their games, but in this game you make your own fluff at your own pace, and that's really refreshing, even if the fluff isn't that great

FFX still gives me a "this is next gen" vibe like it did in 2001!

It ran on for too long, but it was an interesting idea. Every section of the game where you have to awkwardly walk around was fucking stupid though.
