I've been on a big speedrun watching kick lately. What's your personal favorite recording of a speedrun? It can be because it's impressive, or just enjoyable commentary, or remarkable in some other way like ridiculous RNG. Or just share your favorite game in general to watch people speedrun.

The world record speedrun for it isn't quite as exciting since you can just reset over and over until you get favorable drops, but I love watching speedrun races of Batman for NES. Many time-saving tricks involve either losing health or spending ammo so in a race you have to judge which strategies are worth spending resources on and which to hold off on so you don't run out. And bosses are tough enough to be climactic turning points.
Of the bigger name speedruns I only really care about SM64 and Yoshi's Island. ZZZzzzZZzzelda speedruns no thanks (randomizers excepting) Other fun speedruns to watch: Splatterhouse (arcade version) ActRaiser 2 Holy Diver Donald Land (insane screen scrolling glitch, I honestly don't understand how people can even play this one) --- ... Not as technical, but that reminds me of when ZFG was doing a watchthrough of some of the earliest known OoT speedruns and at one point he just stopped and went, "Wait, hold up, this was spliced!" and went back and explained how based on how the Pause Menu loaded to the map section instead of the items where its "last" location had been otherwise (I think, it's been a while. i have no idea how good this one is compared to the rest. i can't imagine the actual time being that good compared to a setting without a crowd but this was my introduction to the more in-depth side of the game and what he does Ch. 8 I thought was really cool. also SSBM Break the Targets records. a lot of the records were set for a while but even relatively recently (think a year ago at this point?) someone found a new strat for a better time for Luigi's iirc when it was thought that all the optimal strats were known since like 2006. --- deal with Eddv for Minwu ...
