I don't like either game, but I can't think of a single thing BotW does better. It's worse in every single way.

The games are both open world fantasy games. But other than that they're completely different.
Witcher is focused on plot and world building. All side quests are designed to give you a story. Even the world itself tells a story. BOTW is about exploring, puzzle solving and experimenting. It wants you to find stuff on your own and it wants you to constantly discover things. Whether that's a shrine, a korok seed or messing around with how things interact with each other. They are both pretty boring. Witcher has bad combat and while some quests are interesting enough, overall it's just too filled with shit characters to be enjoyable. Zelda BOTW has the tedious durability system, but is still pretty fun to play at least for a short while.
