Thin privilege is never having to worry about bringing your own towel because there will always be one that covers your body appropriately.

The standard bath towel is a joke for my fat body, I need two to wrap around me all the way and how awkward is that to hold up and walk back from the bathroom in? I remember feeling nervous that a towel wouldnt fit me since I started going to sleepovers and camp as a kid.

Its something that my non-fat friends dont think about or understand, and Im too embarrassed to explain to them why I always pack my own towel when were going to the beach, a friends pool, or on vacation where well be staying in a hotel or someones house. They will reassure me that there will be towels there, but I always end up making some stupid excuse like I am a germaphobe and hotel towels gross me out (I dont care at all!) or that Im bringing one just in case we run out of towels/mine gets sandy/an alien beams it up in a spaceship.

I also always feel rude when I stay with my Aunt and she leaves out a towel and a washcloth for me, and I dont want to just leave the towel folded up so it looks like I didnt shower (because fat people stink! -_____-) or like I didnt appreciate that she did that. It gives me anxiety that I know is necessary but feel nevertheless.

It would be nice if oversize towels were more common so I would feel more comfortable that the appropriate size will be available for my body.

Purchase a beach towel. They are generally larger than common bathroom towels. Alternatively, stand outside and let the breeze dry you.

The response to that is usually something like "just because they have it worse, doesn't mean we can't advocate for our issues" or something similar.

I think people just dont like excess in general. I get nasty looks for driving nice sports cars through my neighborhood. Large company executives are looked down upon because they demand multimillion dollar bonuses. You are looked down upon because you are fat. These are all the same thing.

The number one leading cause in America, the fattest country is due to being fat so it's still pretty damn unhealthy. It's just become so commonplace that they're pulling out excuses to reassure themselves why it's not a bad thing.

Not the same thing:
This is a different study than the one I have referenced on this site before but is very interesting. Approximately 75 million or about 1 in 4 of all Americans are incorrectly classified as unhealthy based on BMI. Also, about 1 in 3 Americans who are classified as healthy based upon BMI are actually not when using the same metric.

You cant be real. Privilege is something you didnt earn. You have the ability to control your weight. I dont think there is anything healthy you can eat at Wendys and only one or two things at McDonalds that are healthy. When you weigh 362 lbs and arent both an athlete and over 7 ft tall, you have both a food and an activity problem. The poster did not put it eloquently, and that was a shame. You shouldnt pretend that everyone else is wrong.

In that case, people like you actually deserve to be shamed. You can easily lose 10-15 lbs a month without even exercising at your weight. Good luck on that next review!
