This is an incredibly weak argument, dude. Sure, if you take "necessity" to mean the most spartan ulilitarian lifestyle possible then sure, people can live without basic home internet access.

A duopoly is not an example of healthy market competition working as intended. It's anti consumer. These people will fuck you if you give them a chance and the only option people will have is to stop using what is now an essential part of life in our society.

Internet access is becoming more and more of a necessity. The fact that I have internet access at home means I can do most of my job from home if I wanted to.

The internet does many of those things, but it hasn't replaced other methods of learning how to cook and fix stuff. There are still books available at your local library. And like I've stated, there are places where anyone can use the internet for free in pretty much any town or city.
