Surprisingly, I've managed to hit 15 books. One or two may be from last year, I can't remember.

I read a lot because I both really like to read, and if I get halfway through a book and realize I don't like it, I will put it down forever and move onto something else.

I'm the opposite. I will read through any amount of hot garbage because I don't like to leave things unfinished. I disliked some of those books, but gosh darn it, I read them all.

Eight, which is far more then usual. Since I'm looking to build a career as a professional author I decided it was time to finally start reading again. Well, in my case its listening but the point still stands. Have a membership with Audible so I'll be getting a free audiobook pretty much every month plus a nice 30% off every audiobook I purchase.

This is going to be my new year's resolution for sure. At least one book a month--I already have my first book picked out, starting tomorrow!

One every two or three days, so 150 or so this year. Just finished rereading David Drake's Cinnabar series, on the fourth volume of Debra Doyle's Magewars series, have Warhammer 40K Ultramarines omnibus coming from Amazon next week.

Not counting tech manuals and such. Rebuilt my turbo Celica, just got the big pieces back on my Supra before the freezing weather hit.

Like 4. Which I'm not happy about. So my "resolution" this year is to make sure I read much more than that.

I made a reading list and put The Winds of Winter at the top of it. A man can dream...

I'll probably start off with the Fitz and the Fool trilogy by Robin Hobb. I really liked the rest of the books in that series, so might as well keep reading them.

I've been at the gym for about an hour and a half, and I have close to 2 hours of working out left. Thanks for keeping me company guys.

How do you gentlefolk get your books?

I have about 5 Free Little Libraries around my house. If you haven't heard about them, there these tiny little huts people build and leave on their front lawn. It's filled with books, and the idea is for every one book you take out, you put one back in. So every time I finish my pile of books, I take it to one of those little huts and exchange them all.

Can't recall an exact number -- partly because one year blends into the next -- but not enough. Not that the ones I've read (or listened to, since a few were audiobooks) were necessarily great. I wound up binging this absolutely horrible hack fantasy novel (Dragon Weather) because I had become emotionally invested in the story by that point. And, if the sequels were more readily or cheaply available (because it's not something I feel like paying much for -- the first I picked up for something like a buck), I would probably have binged them too, given my emotional investment.

At any rate, I've got a massive book queue atm that I need to get through. Some I started reading then got distracted (Through a Howling Wilderness and The Devil in the White City, for instance) and countless others I've just meant to read but haven't gotten around to it. In general, I probably add 35-50 books to my ever-growing library each year, but I tend to read fewer than 10 in that same time-frame.

16-18, I think for 2017. I'm disappointed. Shooting for 50 this year. Video games aren't doing it for me at the moment other than Pokemon and occasional Switch multiplayer stuff with my wife + my sister, and her boyfriend who both live 2 hrs from me.

All of my PC time has been devoted to learning more Linux whenever I get the chance. Just got a new job as a Java developer from a database management position, so hopefully learning more of that doesn't eat into too much of my reading time lol.
