To the majority of people that don't read books, why not?

I'd assume that books just aren't as visceral a form of entertainment, or they're too much of a time investment, but I'd love to hear other reasons.

Two or three I think. And it's such a struggle. No matter how well rested I am, reading just puts me to sleep.

I read far less than I used to because there are so many other forms of entertainment available and, when it comes to tv/film/podcasts, you can listen/watch while doing other things. Coincidentally, several of the books I've consumed in the past year have been audiobooks which I can listen to while out walking or driving.

20ish. Gotta admit, I absolutely love my Kindle Paperwhite. Sure, I have the app also on my laptop, tablet, and phone...but it's just not the same. At least on the actual Kindle device I can read without any distractions from notifications and such.

Sure, I can get a chapter in on my phone here and there during a lunch break but the Kindle really allows me to just plow through a book properly free of distraction.

I read through all 5 in the Hitchhikers' Guide to the Galaxy series (it was a compliation of 5 novels in one novel). Started to read Dirk Gently's Holostic Detective Agency but haven't really gotten into it yet (so bizarre). Last year I managed to get through Harper Lee's "Go Set a Watchman" (it was good believe it or not).

Probably around 5 or 6. They're my companions on my bus journey to and from work. It's been rare for me to read fiction since I left my teens behind, though.

I have a hard time concentrating, like i'll read the same page a few times in a row, which is weird since in school I can absorb information no problem but when it comes to books it's hard to keep my mind on it instead of just reading the words but not processing it.

maybe, the doctor wanted to put me on add medication when I was little but my dad said no, he said kids are just hyper so eh, could be a mild form, tho I seen kids with real add and I was no where near those levels of hyper.

Probably around 4 although 2 of them were for school and don't remember what the heck they were even about.

As for the other 2, they were a collection of H.P. Lovecraft's works while the other was the Art of War by Sun Tzu. Really enjoyed both of them and glad to finally get into some Lovecraft's stories

Lovecraft is an incredible author with a considerable influence on fiction. Just stay away from his poetry >_>

I used to burn through 5-15 books a month. But after high school, I just stopped reading for pleasure and just read if work required it. I don't know why. Probably less time on my hands now, I don't know.
