Also, I know I've said it already, but I really love how when Goku rides around in the Flying Nimbus there's basically a JRPG airship/etc vehicle theme playing constantly

His gleeful and daring zigzags across the land with such a catchy jig going on really make this world feel inviting

You may pass me soon btw. I'm only on 2x03. I like the show a good bit, but there's something very... episodically fulfilling about each part, you know? The show is serialized but each episode leaves me satisfied for days. Very... mini-movie.

And yeah, I know, right! I might not have even recognized him myself if he didn't pop up in the opening credits. The Crown gives title roles to important guest stars, which is cool. Qyburn is in, like, 2x01, too.

I agree Dillane was better here. Of course, Dillane is like the only GoT alumni who is outspokenly against his participation, so it makes sense. Whereas basically everybody else either sings its praises or at least offers the ever-useful neutral reply of "I was grateful for the experience", Dillane flat-out tells the press he never got the hang for the show, didn't see the big deal of it, and feels bummed because he never understood his character enough to give his all.

I still think he's decent, especially in Season 5, but yeah. It kinda shows.

Okay now I'm feeling a bit miffed at the Rare Blade stuff. ~85 Common Cores and ~20 Rare Cores and the grand result was 1 Rare Blade (from one of the Common ones). Would love to see the odds on these things/how it's calculated. Based on that I'd say ceilings of 1% on Common Cores and maybe 3-5% on Rare ones but it's hard to say if what I experienced was normal or an outlier.

On the markedly more positive side, the area I'm now in (Tantal) has by far the best music so far. I mean the general area, not the town in it, though the town's not bad either (but not best town so far.)

Yeah, that would have been better. Or maybe some kind of bad luck protection where every time you fail to get one, your chances go up on the next attempt, and it stacks until you finally do and it resets and starts over again.

I mean theoretically the latter could be in place here because AFAIK there's no way to see the odds, but I really doubt it is.

That's almost as many as I have and I was well into spamming Legendary cores by that point so I can't really compare my experience to yours. Your luck is probably still well into the bad end, though.

Yeah, hoping it's just an outlier. I was hoping/expecting more like 3-4 Rare Blades from that core clearout session, but nothing to be done about it. Just had me a bit exasperated at the end of it is all.

Yeah I did a core pulling session this morning of like 5 rares and 50 commons and got no rare blades. I only have 7 of them so far too. Its definitely the most frustrating part of the game, especially because certain blades within the rare pool seem extra rare compared to others.

I've literally never heard anyone criticize the show for not having relatable characters before I read that topic

like you don't watch a comedy to find relatable characters because they're all exaggerated tropes and they're not meant to be realistic anyway

what you're looking for in a comedy is endearing because characters in comedies are often low key terrible people since so much of the humor revolves around scenarios that will never happen in real life and so many of the punch lines and comedic beats involve insults and the characters suffering humiliating punishments
