Basically, TC has been going to college using the government's money for some amount of years and shows no visible effort to find work while he goes to school.

That is kind of shitty. I have $90,000+ in medical bills from the wreck, and $20,000 in actual normal debt bills that I'm trying desperately to pay with my single income working as many hours as I can with a busted left side of my body (because of right side brain injury, I can't lift anything with my left hand over an empty water bottle, my left foot is numb, and I walk with a limp on my left side.) When my wife was still alive, we had 4 incomes, and our bills were fine. I lost my second job, and obviously all of hers, and it has been a nightmare ever since. Not that money is what matters in my immense suffering, but as I even try to open my eyes for a moment from the wreckage... I am getting slaughtered by bills here. Hence the GoFundMe. I *wish* the government was helping with some of that debt. I had to get a loan from the bank just to get 4 tires and an alignment for my car to replace the bald ones so that I didn't help God finish the job from October. Sorry for the dark outlook on that...

He's not going on loans. He gets assistance from the government for that too because he's supposedly disabled.

Have you tried filing for disability, and also calling the hospital to see if they can work with you on the bills?
Do you know who hit your car?
Also, consider calling your creditors and explain the situation, and see if they can work with you.

Better get your act together. And fast. There's one thing in this world that you can't ever replace and that's time. Time is always of the essence and with it, your youth. Once your youth is gone, without experience or assets that you should've saved up during your youth, life can be very difficult and harsh.

Chances of living a happy and fulfilled life will be slim.

Hope you get your life on track soon. Because no one will really live your life for you.
