I don't get it, everytime there is a poll involving Xbox One, it always gets shit on! I don't get why? I have both PS4 and Xbox One (recently upgraded to Xbox One X) and I honestly prefer the Xbox One. Why? The controller for one is far superior when playing shooters like Call of Duty, the sticks are more grippy and the layout works better. The PS4's sticks are too close together and they are not grippy so your thumbs always slip off. The graphical user interface on the Xbox is also far better than the PS4. Xbox also has some sweet exclusives like Gears of War series, Halo, Forza.... anyways...just my rant, give Xbox more love or I will leave this site.

i always wondered that too lol. i play pc but also have an xbox one s i use everyday for either Netflix or TV. sometimes i play games on it. ive owned all the PlayStations up to 3 and when 4 came out i was playing pc games so i didn't bother.

In any case, the PS4's controller sticks have higher input sensitivity so are objectively better, the layout is identical except stick placement (which any sane person would say symmetrical hands require symmetrical input), and Xbox set the tone that console peasants are fucking idiots who are willing to pay for internet twice.

Sony for a user-oriented experience, Nintendo for exclusives, PC for raw performance.

Im a pretty big Sony fan, and Id have to disagree. At least critically, Forza 4 & 5 have fared better than GT 5 & 6 respectively, I believe. Not sure about 7 vs Sport, but Sport is a spin-off like Forza Horizon so I wouldnt compare the two. Maybe GT Sport vs the last Horizon game.

Looked up metacritic scores, Forza 4 stomped GT 5, GT 6 narrowly edged out Forza 5, and Horizon 3 stomped Sport head-to-head.

So at least critically, Forza has been performing better than or equal to the GT games.

I agree that it's shitty to have to pay for online service, both Xbox and Playstation charge about the same for their yearly subscription, but at least they include free games monthly, yes some are crap but once in a while a really good game is offered...such as Deus Ex on the PS4 this month. PC users who can afford a powerful rig do have the best options for games, but to have that much disposable income to afford a good gaming PC is not for everyone. I myself rather have a console for gaming, much less hassle.

Gran Turismo 5 sold immensely well while Forza congratulates itself for hitting 1 million sales despite having next gen advantage and buying the rights for the Top Gear Test Track and Porsche.

Forza is also dead last in terms of simulation quality amongst all its rivals despite cash grabs a-plenty (like the exclusive McLaren P1 in all its advertising).

Gran Turismo does a hell of a lot of stupid stuff to hamstring itself but it still laughs in Forza's face, it's pathetic.

Call of Duty is a good franchise comprised of well-made games. I say that as someone who doesnt generally enjoy them, but I can assess them objectively, which is something you seem incapable of.

Im not arguing which series is better, GT vs Forza. Im arguing your labeling Forza a failure. Its not. Its a very successful, very well-received franchise.

Im saying this objectively. I havent bought a Forza game since Forza 4, and Ive played subsequent entries sparingly. Always preferred GT games. If you could get past your fanboyism you might see things differently.

If it helps, Mitch, I sold my PS4 and bought an XB1 and haven't regretted it a single day. While I miss a number of the PS exclusives (Horizon: Zero Dawn looked amazing, and Nier not coming to the Xbox was like a shot to the heart), I'm perfectly content with what I have on the Xbox. Games With Gold gives me four free games a month, and I usually enjoy one or two of them. I use Bing Rewards and Xbox Rewards to purchase all DLC content or to purchase games outright and haven't had to buy a game with real money in ages. Plus, and it may have just been my luck, but I find much better people to play with on Xbox. When I played on Playstation, I ended up in too many lobbies with either kids or people who spouted off the N-word nonstop. Not a huge deal since I could mute them, but I find I don't have to do that on Xbox, even when playing the same games.

I like the controller (well, I like the Xbox One controller, since it is the 360 controller with a functional d-pad), I just wish it came with a battery pack like the PS3/4 instead of needing to buy one separately.

The console has no exclusives that I would consider worth getting though, and exclusives are the reason I get a console.

It's just that more people have PS4, PC, and Switch.

Many people don't consider the Xbox One worth it because it has very few actual exclusive games. Microsoft is now releasing their 1st party games on Windows 10 so that gives people even less of a reason to buy an Xbox One.

I have both and i too recently upgraded to xbox one x. I'm angry that they stop making the kinect cable because i do own dance centeral and just dance games and the phone isn't as fun as the kinect camera. Now they are $250 for the cable on amazon. WHAT THE HELL!!! they screwed all day first gen xbox owners that upgraded to the X.

But besides that. i spend $50 a week on psn when they have sales. which is usually every 2 weeks or so. microsoft sales have been week in most parts. i'm trying to buy more games for my xbox but i usually already own them on the ps4 already and don't want to double dip. Also most games on the xbox are $2-$5 more when they do go on sale compared to the ps4.

that being said. Cuphead is great. Forza compared to GT Sport is kind of like comparing gelato to frozon custard. both are great. Forza get me pumped to play more, but GT sport has better car feel and lighting. Both games have long loading times. I don't like Forza Loot Boxes and i don't like that GT Sport needs to be online to save.

Thinking about Mircosoft. i really don't like their 1st party exclusives compared to Sony's. i was never was into Halo. Crackdown, Kamo, Perfect Dark and Vida Pinta are all dead ips and all of them where meh. Fables is great series, but kind of too casual for my taste, and it's dead. i forgot about Ori and the blind... it's great, but it feel like an indie game rather than a AAA game.

Nintendo is doing season passes and charging for online multiplayer too, though.

It's one of the reasons I prefer to just play on PC. I'm still going to buy a Switch in a year or so because it has a lot of good exclusives. But I'm not going to be playing any kind of online multiplayer on it. I'm not paying for online multiplayer again. It's such a ripoff.

Yeah they are starting to do the same too which sucks but at least Nintendo feels slightly more 'consumer-friendly' though.
Also Halo and Gears were one of my favourite franchises on the Xbox 360 but this gen it has only been disappointments.
I miss those days when the most important part of gaming was to have fun and not to squeeze as much money from the gamers as possible.

Except it didnt "fail"... it sells strong and often reviews better than GT.

If youre using one single metric, sales numbers, to evaluate whether the franchise failed against GT, I could just as easily say the reviews favoring Forza could swing it the other way.

As already pointed out, the Forza games are victim more to being MS exclusive than to the GT series itself. The reasons GTs exclusivity isn't as much of a detriment to GT, is that Gran Turismo had already established itself as one of the go-to sim racing titles years before Forza came onto the scene. Hardcore racing fans would likely favor the Playstation and GT for this very reason, already being invested in the franchise, already being a part of an established community. I'm sure there's crossover fans who appreciate both, such as myself, but I should think that generally people would favor one over the other, if for no other reason than they cannot afford multiple platforms and/or games, and the GT franchise had a considerable head start, no pun intended.

Just because you dont like a game (or several) of a certain franchise doesnt make the entire franchise shit

As I said, I dont even care for the series, but I can objectively see that CoD games are generally quality games. Well-made from a technical standpoint, just not my cup of tea. Theres absolutely no way you can say the entire series is shit unless youre just being provocative for the sake of it.

As I have said in other posts here, I love the original Box (and still play it!), and I like the 360 (... despite getting the Red Ring of Death on my first one), but the Bone has nothing on it that I want to play, nor does it seem to have any noteworthy exclusives. Is it a bad system? No, just not the console for me.

I preferred my PS2 over my XBox, but that's because that was still in the age of actual exclusives, and I just liked the PS2's more.

I preferred the 360 to my PS3. Most of my friends had one so we got to play together, and I preferred the interface.

Now, I prefer the PS4. All the launch shit with XBone upset me, and I prefer the PS4 exclusives again. A lot of the XBone exclusives I can get on my PC, so I'm not even worried about ever getting one unlike past generations where I had both.

I don't know the term for it, but isn't it the system most devoted to the stereotypical Call of Duty/EA Sports/Mountain Dew/redneck crowd? And then throw the whole "attempted surveillance camera in your living room" thing on top, and I don't see why any genuine gamer would ever want one.

Personally I only ever owned an XBox 360 to have access to XNA Community Games. I played and enjoyed a *few* games on the original XBox, but barely. (I do love the Forza series, (2 and 3 anyway).)

Actually the more I think about it the more it irritates me. It's like Internet Explorer. Microsoft attempting to grab hold of an industry without knowing WTF it's doing, pouring tons of effort and money into it resulting in nothing but a mess, and in the process effectively damaging the industry rather than really contributing to it. Microsoft is turning into such a shit company.

It's actually pretty bad considering that say 90% of the worlds computers are run by their O/S, and their company is slowly but surely being driven into the ground by incompetent management.
