Isn't that the ultimate point of those topics? It's based on the most passionate people rather than which side is actually more popular, and the cool part is, rounds end in like 10 minutes.

How's that? With the style I saw, people were constantly voting, and the round was set to end whenever the topic reached 500, with the lowest scoring character eliminated at that point.

As for the passionate thing...isn't that the difference between a save my contest and a regular contest? With save mys the most passionate voters vote a ton, so they make more a difference than ordinary voters do.

actually the main reason to even do a save my these days more than a regular contest is because B8's population is so diminished that you'd be lucky to get 20 votes per match for a regular contest and that's sad for someone who ran contests in a heyday where I could get over 100 votes in the right situations

So I don't know how legit this story is. I just saw a friend of mine post it on Facebook.

I graduated from high school with this guy. He was one of the biggest class clowns in the entire school (although he was still very smart and always did well in school). It's just surreal to see a story about him like this.

Nah, that was the one where Joey was trying to come up with a stage name because "Joseph" was a stronger name than just "Joey."

The "President Joey" thing was the one where Phoebe is having her brother's triplets, and her brother lets her name one of the babies, so she decides she's going to name him after Joey or Chandler but can't decide which one to go with. Then they keep trying to one-up each other over whose name is better so their name will get picked.

In Gankutsuou, it starts getting real with Valentine being poisoned, and the Count's forehead suddenly turning a weird shade of purple a couple of times. Bertuccio refers to him as "Gankutsuou" both times that happens, so is Edmond being possessed by some weird demon thing or what? Just as a head's up, that's not in the book, in case you were wondering! Speaking of the book, I'm kinda sad that Valentine and Noirtier's roles have been reduced in the show because they were great in the book. Also, that scene where Edmond sends Villefort, Danglars, Caderousse, and Fernand a fake invitation to his own funeral doesn't happen in the book either, but that was pretty cool. Again, they're making Villefort a lot more evil here than he was in the book because he didn't even remember who Edmond Dantes was in the book, and he wasn't in on the conspiracy with Danglars and Fernand.

Actually, just about everything that happened in the second episode I watched didn't happen in the book, like Maximillion trying to make off with Valentine only to get caught in the middle of his escape. I guess we've hit a divergence point here one way or the other, so it should be interesting since I shouldn't be able to predict what happens from here on out!

In Tsukigakirei, the show makes a reference that I learned in Persona 3, and it was my first thought when I found out that the show's title translated to, "As the moon, so beautiful." There's a class question in P3 where it says that someone translated "I love you" as that. I almost felt like doing a Captain America, "I understood that reference" there. Anyway, Kotaro works up the courage to ask out Akane, which I definitely didn't expect to happen in the third episode. Way to go, middle school dude! I remember in my last year of middle school, I told a girl that I liked her, and she shot me down. In hindsight, it was probably for the best since I doubt it'd have worked out. On another occasion, one dude (who happened to be 6'6" for the record) also threatened to kill me because he thought I was getting too close to his girlfriend, and my mom in return threatened to sue the school after we told the principal and he refused to take it seriously. In hindsight, he probably actually wasn't serious about it, but when someone is 6'6", you don't take any chances. Once again, middle school: Awkward and not great.

Actually, I told that girl I liked her on a school trip to Washington, D.C., so it's a neat coincidence that Akane reciprocates his feelings during the school trip episode. At least it worked out better for him than for me! Now to see if the relationship is actually meant to be!

A Silent Voice--Been thinking about this lately and it's really good. It's a movie so there aren't a ton of options to watch it really. However, The dub is being played in theaters next month, but only for like 1 day and in specific theaters. Also there is a DVD/Blu-ray release hopefully forthcoming eventually? Highly recommended on the chance that you have the ability to watch it though.

Oh something I forgot to say is that the manga for this is available on Crunchyroll as an alternative option.

Okay, it's time to start the FFXV special episodes!

First up: Episode Gladiolus! I suppose it's fitting that I'll be going in order from least to most liked party member here!

All right, I played about 30 minutes or so of Episode Gladio. I kinda like Gladio's playstyle, but I tend to favor power over anything else in RPGs. He's faster than I thought he'd be, too, which is nice. It's nice having Cor around as a guest party member since you don't really see him much after the early part of the game. So it seems like this is just a series of trials leading up to a showdown with Gilgamesh the Blademaster, who only has one arm instead of the usual four. He schools Gladio the first time he appears in an unwinnable battle, letting him know that it requires more than brute strength to be the King's Shield.

Cor is apparently the only person who's ever come back from Gilgamesh's trials alive, which is why I guess he's attained legendary status in the game. I imagine Gladio will be the second because well otherwise it wouldn't make much sense...! I hope we get a Clash on the Big Bridge remake in the real Gilgamesh boss fight like we did in FFXII!

Oh hey, I finished the first chapter of the Psycho-Pass VN! We solved the case mostly without incident, although some details were left unresolved, but I figure they're part of the larger overarching story. Not sure if there's a way to fail here or what, but I just followed my "detective's intuition" and it all worked out!

If I have one complaint about the interface, it's that the transition from one character disappearing from the screen so another one can show up feels kinda slow.

I started the Clannad VN today, mostly because if I stream any more anime this week I'll go over my internet data cap and I stubbornly don't want to pay the fee. I'm not very far in yet but people should probably still watch out for spoilers here. Please excuse my rambling thoughts.

Anyway, I'm trying to follow a route order guide that I found so I'm starting with the Yukine route. That said... I'm not sure how character routes work in this game because as of April 22nd I've barely met Yukine and Tomoya is clearly well on his way down the Nagisa route based on all the time they've spent together. Nagisa is good so I don't mind, but her route is supposed to come last! I hope I didn't misunderstand the guide, I assumed I could pick anything when it didn't specifically list a decision under the Yukine section. Ah well, at worst I guess I could just speed through a second playthrough if I needed to.

I'm still in the process of meeting characters but so far I think Kyou is my favorite. I mean, she has a pet boar and a sweet bike and she's had a lot of fun interactions so far, what's not to love? I have a feeling Tomoyo will be good too but right now I'm mostly bothered that her name is only one letter away from Tomoya. I'm afraid that'll get confusing when I start interacting with her more. My final comment is... man, poor Sunohara. A lot of is it self-inflicted, but that dude just cannot catch a break.

It's been a fun VN so far but I imagine I'm still in the stage-setting portion of the story. I hope the girls other than Nagisa get more attention eventually.

be careful if you end up playing her spinoff game because she also has a little sister named Tomo

But I honestly made a save at literally every choice so I could immediately go back to it if I needed to. I didn't use a guide for anything other than getting all the Achievements after beating all the routes. It's doable without a guide, but you'll need to make a lot of separate saves. You can't really avoid Nagisa at the beginning, no matter which route you're trying to go down though, so don't worry too much about that.

Good call on starting with Yukine though because her route is probably my least favorite.
