It took me WAY too long to understand Attack Cancelling. And even then it was only because I read about it online.

Not sure if the game doesn't explain things well, or I'm just stupid. (Or both! Cause it took me a little while to realize auto-attack was actually auto attack)

One of the problems is there's no way to go back and review the tutorials. I was able to figure out cancelling Auto Attack and Arts into Arts. However, I didn't know you could also cancel into and out of Blade Switchs and also into Blade Specials until after I beat the game.

whoa i had no idea that was a thing. i always did wonder why certain abilities were unlocked by merc missions tho. thanks for the pointer.

Merc missions can fill out most types of nodes. The ones that Merc Missions don't work on are generally obvious like the ones that ask for a quest to be completed. The one node that really feels like it should work but doesn't are the "X damage in one hit" nodes. If you ever wonder why a common Blade seems to hit a wall in Affinity Chart growth from Merc missions, it is likely that type of node.

Haven't read anything in topic to avoid any spoilers.

Playing for the first time. I'm nearing what I assume is the end of Chapter 4 -- I beat Lila for the second time, Tora left my party for a bit, and I'm fighting through the Warehouse.

I've found most of the game pretty simple so far - Rex and Nia both have enough 5* blades for a party and I'm pretty much just using the ones I like without worrying about classes or elements or anything like that. Will I be able to continue this way or will there be a difficulty spike that will make me have to play more optimally?

For the record:
Rex has Pyra, Roc, Electra, Nim. I usually use Pyra/Roc/Nim.

Nia has Dromarch, Newt, Godfrey, Vale, Boreas, Vess. I know she has a lot more than Rex. I was using common orbs on her to try to get an Earth one for a Merc Mission since I didn't have many and somehow got two 5*s. Of course they are both tanks which I don't see her ever using. I usually use Dromarch/Vess/Vale.

I have Wulfric's crystal but the internet told me to save him for someone I get in Chapter 8.

I don't know where you got Chapter 8 from. That person joins in mid Chapter 5.

My only thing to say is having a non-healer on Nia can be trouble if she gets stuck on Dark to continue a blade combo when she should be healing, but Vale is one of the best options for a non-healer on her so whatevs.

The game never really gets super difficult. Although some battles may take a long team to beat if you don't understand how Chain Attacks work.

Got Poppi QT, Got Morag, did some opens on her and got Gorg. Moved Godfrey from Nia to her since that made more sense to me.

Five new sidequests have been added for those with the season pass. At least two of them involve specific rare Blades, so that's potentially neat.

Also new rare Blades will start being added in May, in multiple installments.

Oh and apparently core chip effects stack across Blades again like they did before the 1.3.0 update, so hooray. Also possibly better handheld performance? Dunno if that's real or not.

Driver combo is break > topple > launch > smash

Blade combo is what you're doing with the different element special attacks in the top right corner.

And a Fusion Combo is when you have both a Driver Combo and Blade Combo going on the same enemy.

Kasandra, Sheba, Zenobia, Finch, Boreas, and Kora for humor purposes. Dagas' is cool too. Dahlia's is kinda weirdly interesting. Wulfric's and Percival's are alright. The others weren't particularly memorable imo. I never got around to doing Adenine or Floren (or KOS-MOS).

For the last few months I thought my Nopon Doubloon quest was glitched and could not be completed. A guide I checked said I needed a Doubloon from View of a Lost Time. I opened the chest there but didn't get anything. I looked up a video to make sure it was the right chest and the video said it was. However, it was by a person who already did the quest so the chest was already open. It was the wrong chest. I finally decided to get a third opinion and found the error. At least I can finally say I've completed every quest. >_>

i liked kasandra's, and zenobia's was alright. kora's was funny. i'll check out dagas and sheba.

KOS-MOS's was fine. i was hoping they'd go more all out with some super cool choreographed fight scene for her but they just have her using her X-buster attack on a bunch of enemies a whole buncha times

the Veg & Oyster Aspic from Fonsett village seemed to be the best. Gives 18 trust per feeding and it's pretty cheap in comparison to other foods that give that much.
