Today I went with my family to Woodstock, IL, which is where they filmed all the town scenes in Groundhog Day. They have plaques all the landmarks and one of the producers does a walking tour and talks about the production of the movie, so it's a fun thing we're making a yearly tradition to go to.

So anyways we're just walking around the square, about a block down from the actual "Ned's Corner" as they call it, when this guy walking the other direction, wearing this stupid hat, stops dead in his tracks and starts pointing at me and screams "Phil! Phil Conners!!"

He runs up to me and starts furiously shaking my hand, and I play along and say "Ned?"

He says "Bing! Ned Riarson! Well I haven't seen you in years, how have you been??"

Then I'm just like oh I'm good, and we kinda broke away and he started bugging other people and my mom got a picture with him. We were all laughing really hard though, so out of the blue and unexpected and he was playing the Ned role perfectly.

I wasn't sure until I saw this comment. Man, I'd be stoked to meet Stephen Tobolowsky. He's great.
