How are we violating the second amendment?

A well regulated militia being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the People to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed.

If we introduce gun-control such as for example Banning AR-15s. Then we are infringing on the right to bear arms.

I'm not someone who thinks gun control is gonna be a magical solution. I fully admit I'm in the camp of "it literally can't hurt".

Ah but can it tho?

What if gun ownership is decreasing violent crimes? Something that's got some evidence to support it.

What if we increase gun laws and we still have mass shootings but now more innocent people are dying too?

It could hurt. and that's what conservatives fear.

I don't get it.

Didn't that just said you can own guns even if you're part of any military or milita group?

Which just enforces that banning guns is infringing rights

I don't see how that ruling dictates that banning AR-15s is not infringing on rights to bear arms.

It seems more like it's talking about people owning unreasable gear, like RM-70 Multiple Rocket Launchers or concealed carrying AR-15s.

It even uses concealed carry as it's example. I think "Any weapon whatsoever" is the key wording there. They're talking about extreme weapons.

To clarify as well, the support has been on upholding the tradition of prohibiting the carrying of unusually or dangerous weapons, which an AR can and should fall under.

Edit: @UnfairRepresent that's the whole point though. An AR can easily be classified as a extreme weapon.

It's not unconstitutional to suggest something like that unless our Supreme Court suddenly means nothing.

We've made decisions on the second amendment. We made a huge ruling on it in the 60's. One that completely contradicted the opinions previously held. Why is it suddenly unconstitutional to open the discussions again?

Responding to "Gun Controll helped stop mass shootings in every nation on Earth"

with "Oh yeah? Well then that means it helped EVIL nations with EVIL rulers!"

-we can keep guns, but no more high capacity magazines!!
-now we have to ban anything that military or law enforcement use
-no more silencers, scopes, etc, but you still have your right!!

Then, before you know it, its illegal to own it at your house. We are finally in a position to solidify our right.

It's actually pretty telling that Maher's list is entirely comprised of meaningless aesthetic parallels rather than similarities based on actual concrete policies. Further he's just being dishonest; dictators don't criticize the media, they imprison the media.

In terms of policy, Obama was way more of a dictator than Trump is.
