Imagine a Cinematic Universe that's predicated on the notion that 'villains matter'. That's something really special. The set-up also would have worked well to supposedly introduce the New Gods in a very mysterious way as well as Amanda Waller as Amanda Waller (from what I saw). Honestly, DC trumps Marvel when it comes to villains, and this would have been a great way to separate DC from Marvel in a great way.
