Current Events > Any overnighters here.. got tips for sleeping during the day?

Sometimes sleeping is just so hard. I live with a schizophrenic who is always talking to himself, and yelling a lot of the time so that doesn't help. I live with my grandmother also who I need to feed...

TH eother day I woke up at 5 am, couldn't go back to sleep. Then during the night, I had to go to work without any sleep. Got home, slept for a grand total of 4 hours til my schizophrenic relative woke me up with his screeching, then couldn't go back to sleep until the next day..

this is not fun... at..... all....

Wasn't expecting these circumstances when I opened this thread, so i'll withhold my suggestions and just say move, or have the schizo move out.

When I worked over night I got off at 6 A.M. then got 3 forty ounces of SR to get myself to pass out, I did the same thing on my days off. Generally it was time to start my shift when I woke up

I worked nights for 12 years. I slept with a blanket over my head to block out light and muffle sound a bit. When I lived at home, I eventually became a heavier sleeper too because my parents would shout conversations through floors of the house like assholes.

Blackout curtains is what I use. I work 6pm to 6am/7am.

yea I worked shift hours so needed the day to sleep. my body just naturally felt awake.

The sleeping mask helped me sleep. just set an alarm for when you want to get up cause some things can only be done during the day lol
