"Arcana Gemini, Flumen!"

Raven sprays liquid Arcana over the fighting Summon constructs and it rains on Rumiko. Rumiko moves back, and the liquid Arcana dampens the grass and dirt. Raven somehow moves the muddy dirt and it gets Rumiko to move back.

"How is she doing that with the mud?" mother asks.

"She substituted Sound magic for Wind Elemental," father says. "Perhaps she's done the same with Flumen and Water Elemental."

"Water in the mud, so she just has to move the water," Uncle Roger says. "Such creativity."

"Arcana, Combustio!" Rumiko shouts.

Her Arcana blasts like flames, and it dries up the mud back into dirt.

"And a clever counter," Aunt Rita says.

Rumiko uses more Combustio to get rid of the mud, but Raven keeps moving her back with each go.

"NOW!" Raven shouts.

Domo-kun appears out of nowhere, and now he's gigantic! He falls forward, nubby arms wide open, and Rumiko lets out a yelp as he belly flops onto her.

"Oh...!" you and your family let out.

"Wait, was that Illusion Magic?" Reed says.

"And Transmutation," Ross says. "But how did she keep that giant from casting a shadow?"

"Because she used Transmutation after moving Domo-kun into place," you say. "She played a game of chess with Rumiko. Domo-kun must have moved while small, making it easy for her to keep the Illusion on him while he waddled. Then once she got Rumiko and Domo-kun near each other, she sprang the trap."

"Ai givu up!" Rumiko says from under Domo-kun. "No more!"

Raven returns Domo-kun to his normal size, and Rumiko sits up. Domo-kun waddles back towards Raven, and Raven walks back over to you for another five minute break.

"That was brilliant out there," you say as you personally give her the towel this time.

"Thanks," she says as she dabs the towel on her neck. "I got a bit worried there, she almost got me with that Typhoon."

"I wasn't that worried," you say. "I knew you'd figure something out."

She smiles while taking the water bottle. She takes a sip while more challengers step up.

"Roberta R-- Stop copying me!" the Robertas argue with each other.

"Oh stop it," Ruby says as she steps forward. "I'm up next. Ruby Danforth of Glasgow, Scotland!"

"Hey!" the Robertas says. "I was going to challenge her next! No, I was!"

"Well, the decision is up to you," Sixth says to her. "Whose challenge do you accept?"

"Umm..." Raven says. "I choose..."

"Ruby!"

Ruby smiles and she walks forward. Raven walks forward, Slithersby and Domo-kun visibly following.

"Well then, Raven Roth versus Ruby Danforth," Sixth says. "Begin!"

Ruby immediately Summons sixteen wolves, and they rush Raven immediately. Raven hurries to Summon back her nine, but that's still not enough. Seven of Ruby's wolves get past and continue towards Raven. Slithersby intercepts two of them, and Raven makes Domo-kun big again. Domo-kun only handles three of them, so Raven has to move and evade the remaining two.

Raven uses barriers to block as the wolves lunge at her with their gnashing jaws. But Ruby sends even more wolves at Raven, and now she's having to fight off seven more!

"Did Ruby just Summon those?" you ask.

"I didn't think she could recover mana so quickly," Reed says.

Raven finds herself overrun by the wolves, so she phases into the ground with her shadow intangibility."

"She can do that?" Ross blurts.

The other families seem to protest, too.

"Oh get off it," you shout at them. "It's a natural ability of hers, but it's well within the rules."

Raven slips away from the wolves, then suddenly creates nine new Summoning circles while she's underground!

"How much mana does Raven have?" Ross asks.

"Oh, cheese and coconut," Roselind says.

"Yeah, I taste it, too," Rebecca says.

"What?" mother asks.

"That's the flavor combination of Raven's Time Magic!" the twins say together.

"She used her Time Magic while phased inside the ground?" you say.

"Yes," they say.

"And, I think she regained her mana that way," Roselind says.

"Don't tell me she waited for hours in her own time space to do that," Ross says.

"No, she did that using Druidic Magic," Rebecca says. "I'm tasting some salt and oranges in there, too."

"Yeah, salty oranges," Roselind says.

"That's still unfair that she managed to use Time Magic to give herself more time for that," Ross says. "If she was going to use Druidic Magic to draw energy from nature, she could've done so without stopping time."

"But it isn't illegal," you say. "She didn't break the rules, the match continues."

"You only say that because she's your girlfriend," he says.

"And you're only against her because of her genetics," you say through clenched jaws.

Raven rises up out of the ground while her new wolves reinforce her old wolves. She's still outnumbered in wolves, but Raven uses Domo-kun as a boost to jump up into the air, where she aims at Ruby to unleash

Raven fires off large clamps, but Ruby handsprings and rolls to avoid them. Ruby uses Defensive Magic to block the clamps she can't evade, but Raven causes them to tighten on the defense barriers. Ruby runs off before the barriers shatters from the pressure.

Raven lands on her feet and the wolves come for her. She stays close to Domo-kun, then grabs him with magic to suddenly swing Domo-kun around! She uses him like a weapon to bat away the wolves as they draw near! Raven then throws Domo-kun at Ruby!

Ruby uses Summon and brings out an elephant! The elephant catches Domo-kun with its tusks, but Raven shrinks Domo-kun back down to his normal size. He falls to the ground, then gets up to waddle under the elephant.

Raven uses Binding spells to tie up the wolves that come after her, pairing them off in ways that they can't pursue her. She runs over to Ruby, who tries to have her elephant squash Domo-kun. Ruby sees Raven, and throws Binding spells of her own at Raven.

"Melleo Magna!" Raven shouts.

She fires a massive Melleo blast, big as a car, and it intercepts all the different chains and locks as it heads for Ruby. Ruby doesn't get out of the way in time, and the Melleo knocks her into the mud.

"Ohhh...!" you and your family say again.

"Is she alright?" Reed hollers.

Ruby gets up, but Raven locks her down with Shining Shackles and a combination lock. Ruby works to get out of the Binding, but Raven pins her down.

"Well, I believe that's another win for Raven," Sixth says.

Raven returns for her five minute break, and takes another big drink of water.

"Great job out there," you say to her. "I think you should wrap this up, and go right for the top."

"You really think so?" Raven asks.

"Yes, of course I do," you say. "Plus, if you don't go after Renee yourself, she'll just wait until you've completely exhausted yourself."

You lean in closer.

"Even if you do use Time Stop magic to give yourself a free break," you whisper.

"How did you--? Right, your sisters. What can I say? This is war, and love, so all's fair, right?"

"Right. But try not to rely on that trick, okay?"

"Okay..." she smirks with a roll of her eyes.

Raven hands the water bottle back and walks out to the field again.

"I've beaten three of the best already," she says to the other families. "But I'm going to show you all I'm the best, and that I'm not going to let any of you take control of Rorek's life, because now, it's also my life. I challenge Renee Dubois to this final duel!"

Everyone mutters in surprise and even haughty disapproval.

"Fine," Renee says as she walks forward. "I will aczept your challenge! And I will prove how unworthy you are!"

"Well then, the final duel," Sixth says. "Renee Dubois of France, Rachel Roth of America. Begin!"

"Arcana Stellae!" Renee shouts.

Her rich purple mana becomes the Arcane Stars that float around her.

"Magna, Terebro!" she says.

The Stars grow large, and then become cones that spin as drills. Renee sends them at Raven at high speeds, and you can see the wind coming off the Star-Drills as they rip through the air.

"Custos!" Raven shouts.

*bleen* The Guardian Shield appears!?

"Impossible!" Renee says in French.

"No way!!" Roselind and Rebecca both blurt.

"How is she capable of that?!" Ross says. "Only you and Grandfather are capable of that, and you've trained your whole life for it."

"I'm just as surprised as any of you," you say. "She's seen me use it, but I didn't think she'd try and copy it!"

"Suffisamment!" Renee shouts. "Enough iz enough! I am zick and tired of thiz imposteur, thiz wannabe, thiz prtendant!"

"Stop whining, and put your money where your mouth is!" Raven shouts back. "Arcana Stellae!"

Raven disperses mana the same as you or Renee would, and black stars float around Raven.

"Stellae, Umbra!"

Raven's black aura darkens even more to be voids of light floating through the air, obscuring Raven as they pass by.

"Shadows?" Sixth says. "I've never seen Arcana used like that before."

"Stellae Umbra, Expandi!" Raven says.

The shadowy Stars grow and stretch, and start creating large blindspots in the field. Renee tries to move to a new vantage point, but Raven is creating an almost 360 degree range of coverage. The Shadow Stars spread out, and Renee finds herself amidst them like a fog.

"Stellae, Dispergat!" Renee commands.

Her stars scatter about across Raven's range of coverage.

"Stellae Magna," Renee continues, increasing the size of her Stars. "Revol--"

Raven suddenly flies out from one of her Shadow Stars! She goes right after Renee, who jumps back and prepares a new Arcana. Raven handsprings back into the shadow, and disappears.

"That's bloody brilliant!" you say. "The shadow quality of the Stars works with her shadow intangibility, so that she can cover several meters in mere seconds!"

Renee keeps her guard up as she moves through the field of Shadow Stars. She prepares a bit of Arcane, a bit of Elemental, and a bit of Nature while she has her head on a swivel.

Raven leaps out from behind Renee, but Renee leans back to avoid the tackle. Raven rolls and recovers, but Renee has combined those three Magics into one and aims at her!

"Arcana Ignis Naturae!" Renee shouts. "Incendium Lignum Caelorum!!"

A truly massive eruption of flames comes from Renee's hands, and it quite literally branches out in all directions! Raven leaps back inside her Shadow Stars, but the Burning Tree of Heaven starts popping them as they make contact. Raven flies out of one and aims down at Renee but Renee breaks off burning branches to throw them up at Raven! Raven evades, but has to ditch her counter attack as she escapes back into the shadow space.

Renee holds onto the Burning Tree while Summoning. She brings out a trio of hawks, and they fly around to be her eyes. Then Renee goes to her bracelet and takes a piece off. She uses Transmutation to make it much bigger, and you see it is a horse. Renee puts a mind-stone in the head and brings it to life!

Renee rides the golden horse around, armed with the Burning Tree! She swings the tree around and takes out more and more of Raven's Shadow Stars. Raven leaps out again, having run out of room to hide in. One of Renee's hawks swoops over, and Renee heads that way. Raven blasts the hawk away, but Renee charges her, using that tree like a lance for jousting!

"Custos!" Raven shouts again.

The Guardian Shield returns, and the Burning Tree of Heaven crashes into it! Branch after branch breaks off, and it's so much fiery chaos that you can't tell how Raven's Custos is holding up. When Renee runs out of tree, you see that the Custos is gone, but so is Raven.

"Raven?" you call out of some concern.

"Decipula!" Raven shouts from somewhere.

Out from the ground, several wedges spring up and surround Renee! They clamp together like a domed cage, trapping Renee inside! Raven then reappears from below, and puts her hands on the dome.

"Arcana Mixta, Melleo Imbre!" she shouts.

Dozens of Melleo blasts fill the dome, and bounce around to also hit Renee! Renee is pelted off her golden horse, then into it, then finally onto the ground.

"J'arrte! J'arrte! I give up!" Renee shrieks.

Raven stops the Melleo and opens the dome. Renee scurries out from under her horse, hair a mess and quite a few red marks on her face and arms from all the Melleo. Raven celebrates with a hoop and holler and even some jumping.

"I think it's pretty clear who the winner is," Sixth says. "Raven Roth has proven herself more than worthy of being part of the family."

"Young Master Rorek," Carter asks with a smile. "Should we make lunch a celebratory meal in Raven's honor?"

"No, let's save that kind of thing for dinner," you say. "And let me know when you start, I'd love to help."

"No need, Gerik and Fredrick will be done with the yard in time, they can set the tables."

"I didn't mean with the tables, Carter," you say. "With the food."

Carter looks at you curiously, but then moves to a bit of a chuckle.

"You can cook?" he asks.

"Yes, I can cook," you say. "Don't act so shocked. I learned to take care of myself while I've been out there in the real world. I can at least help with a side dish or something."

"Well if we decide on mashed potatoes, I'll let you know," Carter smirks.

"Oh ha ha," you say. "I'll have you know, I can make some good scrambled eggs, too."

Carter chuckles as he rejoins his father and while Raven walks over to you.

"That was amazing," you say as you give Raven a high-five.

"Thanks," she says. "The stuff she was doing wasn't half bad, either. You didn't tell me she could combine Magics like that."

"I'd never seen her do that before, myself," you say. "But your combinations were pretty astounding, too. What a brilliant idea to combine your natural intangibility with Arcane Stars."

"Thanks," she smiles. "I'm rather proud of that one."

"I'm also very surprised you even attempted Custos," you say. "That was a risky move. You could've been shredded to bits right from the start."

"I know, I got lucky there," she says. "It surprised me, too, though."

"Well, no more risks like that," you say. "Let's relax and enjoy the rest of our day."

"Doing what?" she asks. "Oh, the library?"

"No, I promised you a full day in there," you say. "We'll go to the library tomorrow. For now, I think you and your opponents earned another freshening up."

"Alright," she says. "Where will you be in the meantime?"

"I'll be here with the family, greeting our guests," you say. "Chances are we'll stay outside so you can find your way back."

"See you in a little bit, then," Raven says.

She walks inside with Renee, Roxanne, Ruby and Rumiko, with Penelope, Bernadina, Opalina and Ginnie following. Meanwhile, you walk over to their families, along with your parents, and talk with

"Ronald, Rachel," Mr. Zoza says. "Long time no see, no?"

"Yes, and it's good to see you again, Remy," your father says as they shake hands.

"Rachel!" Mrs. Zoza says as she opens her arms for a hug.

"Roesia, how are you?" your mother says as she accepts the hug.

"Very well, thank you," she says. "I did not expect your zon to bring a girl friend home."

"Well, none of us did, really," your mother says. "They only met a month ago, but it seems rather serious."

"I am right here, Mother," you say. "And yes, Raven and I are rather serious. This isn't just some fling."

"She definitely haz skill in magic," Mr. Zoza says. "Roxanne surely underestimated her."

"I'm sure she did," you say, "but even if she didn't, Raven would've still won."

"Where did she zay she was from?" Mrs. Zoza asks. "Other zan America."

"Azarath," you say. "It's okay that no one knows where that is, because it's not on any maps."

"Is it a very zmall country?" Mr. Zoza asks.

"Umm... I suppose it is," you say. "Y'know, I've yet to really talk in detail with Raven about her homeland."

And that is all true. It's part of why you're unsure of how much to give away about it. Raven said it exists in a mystical realm, or in other words, another dimension.

"I do know this," you say. "She was trained from a very early age, not unlike any of us. Raven is exceptional because she has always taken her magic, her abilities, her life itself, as life or death. To be honest, she's probably even more powerful than I am, if we were to ever battle seriously. That, combined with her genuine feelings for me and mine for her, no one here stands a chance of removing her."

Mr. and Mrs. Zoza are speechless, eyes wide and mouths slightly pursed.

"Well, I suppose I should go talk with some of the others," you say. "It was nice talking to you."

You give a short bow, then walk off towards

"Mr. and Mrs. Rhodes," you say as you approach. "How have you been?"

"Ah, Rory!" Mr. Rhodes, decked in gold wrist watch and diamond wrist cuffs, says. "Good to see you, good to see you."

He shakes your hand, and then you shake Mrs. Rhodes' hand, her fingers all covered in rings.

"Here you all are," another voice says.

You look over and see nine young men walking over. The brothers have arrived.

"We were wondering why we were led around the outside," the Rhodes brother says as he walks up to you. "Good to see you, Rory."

"I've been well, Ralph," you say as you shake his hand. "I'm sure you have, too."

"Yes, very," he says. "But why is my sister pouting like that? Did she lose to Renee again?"

"Actually, she hasn't even dueled," you say. "She's more upset that I brought my new girlfriend."

"Seriously?" he says. "When did this happen?"

"Just in the last month, really," you say. "She's really quite something, though, so don't be too upset with me."

"Better than my sister?" Ralph says as he goes over to her side. "For that matter, better than all the others here?"

"Again presenting," Penelope says, "Renee Dubois and Roxanne Zoza of France."

You look over and out walk Renee and Roxanne in flowing summer dresses, putting on their best smiles as they walk over to their families.

"See?" Ralph says. "Exceptional polished gems, those two."

Ruby and Rumiko walk out, Ruby in a medium skirt and sleeveless blouse, while Rumiko is in capri pants and striped short sleeve.

"Even they are pretty cute," Ralph says.

After them is Raven, in her t-shirt dress that is a bit tighter than you thought it'd be, and to your surprise, the Louis Vuitton sandals. She even has hair tucked behind her ear and held there by a clip. Ralph's jaw drops as Raven walks over.

"I'm surprised you're wearing those," you say. "I thought you didn't like them."

"Well they're not my favorites, but I've come around on them," she shrugs.

"Raven, I'd like to introduce you to Ralph Rhodes, Roberta's brother," you say as you take her arm in yours. "Ralph, this is Raven Roth."

"Hello," Raven says.

"H... Hello," Ralph manages to say.

"Looks like you have your answer, brother," Roberta grumbles at him.

"Answer to what?" Raven asks.

"Oh nothing," you say. "Though I probably should've put money on it. By the way, where did you get the hair clip? It looks nice."

"Does it?" she asks. "Penelope thought it'd be a nice touch."

"And she was right," you say. "Now, come, let's go talk to..."

"Oooh," she says. "Talking to the rivals. Sounds good."

"Don't be so modest," you joke with her as you walk.

She chuckles as you go over to Renee, her parents, and her brother.

"Good afternoon, everyone," you say to them. "Raven, this is Renee's brother, Raydon, and her parents, Rayder and Reine Dubois."

"So it's not just your family with all the R's," she mutters.

"Hm?" they say.

"How have things been?" you ask them. "Le 24 Heures du Mans is coming up, how is your team?"

"Zey are doing alright," Mr. Dubois says. "I am hopeful zey can take ze GT EAM class thiz year."

"That's going to be great," you say. "They were so close last time."

"Yes, and it took Rayder several months to stop reminding us of zat," Mrs. Dubois says with a teasing smile.

"If only Harcourt had been the anchor, I'm sure he would've done better on zose last turns," Rayder grumbles.

"Yes, yes, we know, dear," Reine comforts her husband.

"How about you, Raydon?" you ask Renee's brother. "Any progress with Circuit de la Sarthe?"

"Well I finally made it onto Groupama FDJ," he says. "But I had no chance of being even in the front half thiz year. Guillaume Martin is like a cycling machine."

"Well keep at it, mate. Even Guillaume Martin had to start at the bottom."

"Thiz iz true," he chuckles. "Now, I heard from Mre et Pre zat your lovely Raven had a duel with Renee and won."

"Lovely?" Raven says, with a smile and blush. "Well, I don't know about that."

Renee huffs as she turns her head away sharply.

"They did duel, and yes, Raven did win," you say. "But I have to say, that combination spell you used, Renee, it was impressive. The Burning Tree of Heaven, I believe it translates to."

Renee is less haughty as she turns slightly back towards you.

"Yes," she says, though still looking away from you and Raven. "It iz my own Original Spell that I worked on for months. Though, I doubt zis copycat haz any of thoze."

"I'm sorry, you make it sound like we should only ever use spells we've invented ourselves," Raven counters. "Oh but wait, I'm pretty sure I made up Arcana Stellae Umbra myself."

"Ladies, let's keep it civil," you say as Renee scowls while still looking off into space. "You don't want to tire yourselves out before dinner. Which, by the way, I'm hoping to help prepare. I might be able to talk Carter into letting me prepare..."

"Poultry. Not just chicken, but maybe duck or turkey, whatever they have."

"Oh, that should be good," Raven says. "You did great with those steaks you made for us."

"Rorek... Cooked for you?" Renee says, looking at Raven.

"Yes," she says. "Practically all the time. Though usually more for lunch, with great sandwiches and burgers."

"Buhr-gehrz?" Renee says, looking at you with surprise and disappointment. "Why would you ever stoop to eating zomething like zat?"

"Because they're pretty delicious when done right," you say. "And because acting like one kind of food is better than another is too snobbish, even for our group."

Renee is flustered and huffy again while Raven hides a smirk.

"Be that az it may," Raydon says, "I am sure that if Rorek helps prepare the meal, it will be up to everyone's ztandards."

"Thank you, Raydon," you say. "I'll be sure to make something everyone can enjoy."

"I know I'll enjoy it," Raven says. "Because I accept that Rorek likes the foods he likes, unlike some people."

Renee frowns at Raven but Raven just smiles.

"For now," you say as you see Carter and his brothers bring out trays, "seems there are plenty of hors d'oeuvre prepared. Please enjoy."

You and Raven move on, and pass by Carter to sample the tiny crab cakes.

"Love it," you say. "By the way, Carter, what types of poultry do we have? I was thinking of making some kind of bird the main course."

"We do have quite a few quails," he says. "Do you have any recipe ideas?"

"I think I can come up with something for that," you say. "Make sure to have cabbage, salt water, rice, milk, butter, onions, oh and even some quail eggs. That will be for the stuffing to put inside each quail."

"Oooh, I like that idea," he says. "What about the sauce?"

"Umm... Madeira sauce, made from a modified Sherry vinegar. Madeira, obviously, with Red wine, soy sauce, sugar, honey and Fond de Veau. And a poached egg with ground parley as the garnish. I'll take care of preparations myself, just let me know when you have the ingredients."

"Yes, sir," Carter nods.

You and Raven let Carter continue serving the guests with his brothers while the two of you go over to talk to

"Now that we get a little more time to talk," you say as you return to your father and mother. "I felt you'd like a more personal conversation with each other."

"Hello, again, Mr. and Mrs. Null," Raven says with handshakes.

"Hello again, Raven," mother says. "That's a nice dress."

"Thanks, Rorek bought it for me, along with some others," Raven says. "He also bought me these sandals while we were in Hawaii."

"Hawaii?" mother says.

"Oh that's right," father says. "The $30 million charge a few weeks ago to Ferris Air, as well as another one more recently."

"Which is a wonderful company," you say in defense. "They didn't have to rent an Airbus out to us, but they did."

Your father just gives you a bit of a smirk and sigh.

"But Hawaii," mother says. "Where did you stay?"

"At a nice Hilton near the beach," she says. "In separate rooms. Though, they were connected."

"Oh were they...?" mother says as she slowly turns to you with a glare.

"I probably didn't need to mention that part," Raven says nervously while you look down at the ground.

"I would hope my son was a proper gentleman," mother says sternly.

"He was," Raven says. "And he has never pressured me into anything."

"Oh...?" mother says, her glare intensifying.

"And I probably didn't need to mention that, either..." Raven says. "But we've never had sex."

"Well, then that's a relief," mother says, easing up. "Rory goes all over the world, and barely tells me a thing about what he does or who he meets, I'm surprised he hasn't become some party hard playboy like that Bruce Wayne or Oliver Queen."

"Rorek hasn't told me everything about his trips around the world," Raven says, starting to sound judgmental herself. "I was surprised to learn about Rumiko."

"I swear to you I have never had sex," you say.

"He's telling the truth," Raven says.

"How do you know?" mother asks.

"I'm an Empath," Raven says. "I'd be able to tell if he was lying."

"I see," mother says. "Makes you trusting him very easy, hm?"

"Yes, I suppose it does," Raven smiles.

"So how was your time in Hawaii? Since I know it wasn't indecent."

"Umm," Raven says, clearly thinking about what you're thinking about in regards to that word. "It was fun."

"We actually went on a little tour of Hawaii's more supernatural and haunted areas," you say. "We even saw an actual spirit, scared us out of the building."

"Oh yeah, that was great," Raven says with a laugh. "Rorek cussed, quite a bit."

"It was genuinely frightening," you defend.

"Though, oddly enough, you only fear farted in the museum," Raven says, getting your parents to laugh.

"Because I had a lot of soda," you defend again.

"It's okay," Raven says with a smile as she wraps her arms around yours. "I thought it was funny, and even a little cute."

You smirk and she smiles back.

"The Teen Titans have all been great, as well," you say. "They welcomed me into the group and even gave me a room to stay in."

"I was wondering where you were staying in California," mother says.

"He's been a big help with the cooking and stopping crime," Raven says.

"You fight crime?" mother says.

"Using magic, no doubt," father says.

"Don't worry," Raven says, "he's been careful to wear his helmet when he does, so that people don't identify him."

"The secret could still come out," father says. "I wish you wouldn't risk it."

"It'll be fine, father, really," you say. "I'm barely that recognizable in the States as it is, no one's going to run to the media with this."

"I'm more worried that you'd get hurt," mother says. "Or worse. You may know Healing Magic, but it won't help if you die."

"Well, I'll be right out there with him," Raven says. "I'll keep him safe."

"Thank you, Raven," mother smiles.

"So, I suppose you'll be going back there after this week," father says.

"Yes, but not right away," you say. "We'll take our time with traveling our way back, make a road trip out of it."

"Oh, that sounds rather lovely," mother says. "Were you going to go through Florida and the South to enjoy the beaches?"

"Oh, that's when we could go to the Museum of Death!" Raven says. "The one in New Orleans."

"Museum of Death?" your parents both say.

"Raven is strongly goth," you say. "And I suppose I did promise our road trip to have morbid hot spots like that."

"Thank you~," Raven says as she hugs you.

"Did you mean 'strongly' or 'strangely'?" father says. "She seems rather sweet for being goth."

"Well I'm rather sweet on Rorek, so I think it works out," Raven smirks.

"Young Master Rorek," Carter says as he walks over. "The ingredients have been gathered, if you're ready to prepare them."

"Very good," you say. "Thank you, Carter. Raven, mother, father, if you'll excuse me."

"Wait," mother says. "You're going to cook?"

"Don't worry, he's actually really good," Raven says. "At least, for someone who was trained in diners and places like that."

"Diners?" father says. "American diners?"

You follow Carter into the manor and to the kitchen.

"I trust you can keep up with what I'm about to do," you say to Carter and Penelope as you go to the island table.

"Of course," Carter says.

"In that case," you say. "Let's begin."

You take the quail eggs and soft boil them, seasoned with salt, pepper and cream. You parboil the cabbage in the salt water while you mince and sautee the chicken breast meat and suer some diced onions. You then mix the meat and onions with some butter, and add rice and milk for a nice risotto. That and the soft quail eggs go inside the cabbage like a candy inside a wrapper.

You make the Madeira sauce just as you described it to Carter: Madeira and red wines with the vinegar, soy sauce, sugar, honey and Fond de Veau that is slightly seasoned. At the same time, you pan roast an entire quail, then stuff it with the cabbage-wrapped ingredients before oven roasting. Carter and Penelope have kept pace, so they are now putting their own stuffed and fried quails into the oven with yours.

While the quails roast, you prepare the garnish side by poaching another egg and grinding up the parley. Carter and Penelope follow in kind. You therefore multiply your output, so that each oven of your trio is soon roasting a dozen of the quails at once.

"Cailles farcies au riz aux uf faon," you sum up. "Quail Stuffed with Risotto and Eggs."

"How innovative," Penelope says. "Wherever did you get the inspiration?"

"A certain well-detailed comic book series I found in Japan," you say. "And this is good, we'll have plenty for everyone, without using Multiplication Magic."

"Do you have any other things in mind for this meal?" Carter asks.

"Yes, we'll keep it to a six course meal," you say. "Well, more actually five, the hors d'oeuvres were already served earlier. We'll still have soup, fish, salad, this for the main course, and the dessert. Carter, you can decide the soup, and Penelope the salad. I'll take care of..."

"What about the fish?" Carter asks.

"We can work on that together, after taking care of these," you say.

Carter and Penelope set to work on the soup and salad, while you grab up ingredients. You of course grab milk, some butter and chicken eggs, they're pretty essential to a lot of the ideas you have in your head. You decide to go with a chocolate cake. No, better: chocolate sponge cake.

You mix up the cake batter, creating a large amount to guarantee everyone will have a slice. You also take chocolate and heavy cream, chop the solid bars up and mix it with the cream for chocolate ganache, which will end up being the frosting.

"Do we have any corn syrup?" you ask Carter and Penelope.

"A jar of it should be in the pantry," Penelope says while she peels heads of lettuce.

You go over to the pantry and find the corn syrup. You take more chocolate and melt it, then maintain it at 90 F. You pour a 1/3 cup of corn syrup into the chocolate, as it is milk chocolate, and stir simply to incorporate the syrup, not to mix it and the chocolate together.

You then pour this all out onto the cool and clean granite top to let it become a more dough or clay like substance. You knead it over and over to make it even softer. It needs 15 minutes to rest, which is fine, as you need to finish up the ganache and cake itself.

"How are things going for you two?" you ask Carter and Penelope.

"I figured that if we're having fish and quail, a seafood soup would work well," Carter says. "Clam and Lobster chowder."

"And I'm going with a traditional garden salad," Penelope says. "But I'm making our special Wilmarth salad dressing to go with it."

"Excellent," you say. "While I finish with the desserts, Carter can fetch the fish. Hopefully there's plenty of..."
