Feeling like binging some Naruto crap this three day weekend. Not really up on what shows are considered good, so I'd appreciate any recommendations. For reference, here's what I've seen, split out into three tiers.

Loved

Kill La Kill - Probably my favorite anime I've watched. Felt like an extreme over the top parody of the more offputting anime tropes, which I really appreciated. By the end I was unironically invested in the plot, deliberately stupid as it was. Honestly I'm tempted to just rewatch this show, but feel like I should try something new instead.

Madoka Magica - Another parody (or deconstruction, more like) of anime tropes, this time focusing specifically on the magical girl subgenre. I was hooked throughout, and consider the Homura flashback episode (episode 10) one of the single best episodes of anything I've ever watched. I've seen Rebellion, though if that's the last Madoka Magica we get I'd have preferred they just leave it at the last episode of the anime.

Psycho Pass - Season 1 was great, though it peaked somewhere around the middle of the season. Season 2 was pretty bad, and the movie was pretty forgettable, but I'm putting the show in this tier on the strength of its first season.

Liked

Cowboy Bebop - By the time i got to it, I think Cowboy Bebop was just overhyped. For its time I'm sure it was groundbreaking (especially the dub, and I usually don't watch dubs), but I watched it years later and it was just... fine. Enjoyable, but I feel like I missed its "moment."

Attack on Titan - Addictive viewing, even if entire episodes could go by without advancing the plot a single inch. I haven't seen the second season yet, and would be open to just watching that upon suggestion.

Hated

Elfen Lied - Utter irredeemable unmitigated fucking trash, unfit for mortal consumption. I was sick and bedridden, and at the time someone had uploaded the entire series to YouTube. For whatever reason I watched the whole thing in one sitting, and death frequently looked like a viable alternative.

Any recommendations are appreciated. Anime often scratches that "just one more episode" itch, and I'm looking for something like that this weekend. Thanks in advance!

Little Witch Academia

It's from the same studio that did Kill La Kill, though it's not nearly as over the top. It's about a bunch of witches in a magic school. It's pretty silly, but the second half is more serious than the first half.

Can't believe I left some of these out! Feeling tired I guess. You can add Death Note to the love tier, and One Punch Man to the like tier. Will definitely look into the others!

If you have access to the Crunchyroll library I'd highly recommend The Vision of Escaflowne. It's one of the classic 90's anime and a meager 26 episode investment of your time.

Check out FLCL. If you dig it, then you have seasons two and three to look forward to later this year.

I second these, and I'll also suggest:

- Outlaw Star
- Black Lagoon
- No Game No Life
- BlackRock Shooter
- Princess Principal

And if you're okay with watching a longer (more than 26 episodes) series:

- Soul Eater
- Shakugan No Shana
- Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha

Naruto crap recommendation (because a lot of the good ones have been taken already): Puzzle and Dragons X. I was just trying to lower my standards a bit, but I was legit getting invested in the character interactions while I did watch it. I just find something endearing about how the main quartet plays off of each other and the minor/recurring characters they meet.

Stuff I think is actually good.

Legend of the Galactic Heroes
Baccano!
Ghost Stories (English Dub)
Ouran High School Host Club
Silver Spoon
Haven't You Heard? I'm Sakamoto
Samurai Flamenco
Death Parade
If you like One Punch Man, you'll probably also like Mob Psycho 100.

Elfen Lied was my first anime and I watched it an incredibly long time ago. I remember enjoying it but I dunno how it'll hold up if I rewatched it (just giving my thoughts since you hated it).
I don't watch much anime at all but I recently finished Future Diary and really liked it. Watched it subbed first, so the dub sounds weird to me.

Full metal alchemist is a "just one more" series. The original is 51 episodes, Brotherhood is a wee bit longer and broken up into 4 seasons. Ignore the live action

Neon Genesis Evangelion is pretty amazing, if you aren't down for the series they sort of rehashed it into 3 or 4 movies

Ergo proxy takes itself a tad too seriously but is still very bingeable

What's good in the current season?

Nothing that isn't a sequel, spin-off, or revival of an existing series. Seriously, this season is total shit in terms of original anime.

The only one I saw that even interested me a little bit was a baseball anime called Gurazeni, and it's been decent so far.
