Nintendo has been in their own league since the wii lol. It's mainly been Xbox vs Playstation for competition.

Xbox is more like WWE. They're still big and entertaining, but they're treading water and not doing anything really unique to attract new fans. They're definitely relying on having a more casual fanbase rather than the very serious fans. Also, like WWE relying on old part-timers like Brock Lesnar and Undertaker to sell tickets, one of the XB1's most popular selling points right now is backwards compatibility, relying on nostalgia to keep players interested.
Playstation is New Japan Pro Wrestling. They're growing their brand and bringing in some surprising big names, but they rely too much on one aspect of their product. PS4 is selling based on exclusive games and not really the ability of the console itself, just like NJPW is selling based on its matches and not really based on the booking and storylines. They refined that main aspect so much, but trail behind Xbox/WWE on many of the extra features on the side. Nintendo is more like Lucha Underground. They're off doing their own unique thing and pretty much ignoring the major competitions between bigger companies. They get eyes on their product through larger than life characters, and instead of trying to grab fans away from the competition, they're content with being a "supplementary" pick to be enjoyed alongside the big named. If LU got a lot of viewers but every single one of them also watched WWE or NJPW, they'd be fine with that.
