In retrospect I don't think that was a bad score! TP had some genuine flaws that I think deserve to have some points knocked off.

Okay I watched the Side B video

Note how he labels the social justice side of gaming, the side that cares about sexism, as the smallest side.

He completely dismissed the accusations of sexism without addressing them at all.

Its just a presupposed fact in his mind that the people calling out sexism are wrong.

He claims that the audience for those gaming journalism sites are on the opposite side of the journalists, which BY ITS VERY NATURE, dismisses anyone who might want to listen to the cultural criticisms by gaming journalists as not part of the culture. Thats the exclusion and gatekeeping I am referring to.

Does that make sense?

I have a hard time trying to score TP now because I think there's merit to a "for its time" thing and I might score it lower based on improvements to games made since. I mean, right now I'd have no problem with a 7 for TP but am I successfully blocking out my knowledge of improvements Breath of the Wild made, for instance?

i dunno i'm probably over thinking it, 7-8 seems like a good range. OoT and MM were/are superior so I'm hesitant to say 9 works but eh.

I didn't say I hate the rest, I just don't really care about them. Came to the N64 games too late, so I have no appreciation for them in their time. TP was...fine. Skyward Sword, meh. That 3DS one was OK. Don't dig the old ones. BotW is probably the biggest controversy for me because I really dislike big open worlds so that one is is super low down on the list for me. I own it but can't bring myself to play into the double digit hours.
