Kendrick picked a fan from the crowd, who happened to be a white chick, to rap Maad City with him, and if you're familiar with the lyrics you might know where the controversy came from.
She said the n word twice, he stopped the song, she responded with "what am I not cool enough?", and he said no she just should've not said that part, she apologized, but the crowd was upset, shouting expletives at her, he went to start it again, but based on the crowds reaction they weren't into it so he just had her get off the stage. There's video of it, but I got modded for posting a song with the n word in it once so I'm not posting the video, you can find it in other topics here though, search Kendrick and you'll find one.

*cue debates about if she should've been allowed to say the n word or not*

I know what you're saying, and while I personally feel context is what matters and there wasn't any malicious intent with her saying it. You have to understand the situation you're in, the history behind what you're saying, and how other people are going to respond to it.

It really comes down to the freedom from consequence argument, sometimes you've got to use some level of critical thinking and realize when it's appropriate to say something and when it's not. And that was quite frankly one of the worst places you could've picked to say it.
The crowd wasn't happy, he wasn't happy, what do you expect him to do? Ignore it and move on when he wasn't okay with it?
He even attempted to keep it going but by that point you could cut the tension with a knife with the crowd, he wasn't feeling it anymore, so he called it off.

Does she deserve to be shit on for it? Not really. But he was perfectly reasonable in deciding not to continue. He wasn't disrespectful, he wasn't rude, or anything, he just wasn't into it anymore and neither was the crowd.

The truth is that neither are to blame, she was asked to go up on stage and sing a song that had that word in it and did, he stopped her because the crowd was starting to turn on her.

Oh please, there's nothing sadder than hearing a censored rap song. He should've picked a different song or just not had a white person rap it.

Context matters, and so does intent. It's not like a racist white girl would pay money to go to a rap concert in the first place, so she likely good people. I personally wasnt offended by her saying the word.

One way to solve this shit is to just not say the word period. Don't bitch when someone else says the word. Don't like it? Don't fucking use it.
