Associating the flag with racism is not the same as accusing everyone who flies it to hate black people.

Of course not, but it's mostly ameliorated throughout the south, so to accuse anyone who bears the symbol of racism is nearsighted.

You cant change history TC, we all know what the civil war was about. If you choose to believe it wasnt about the south fighting to keep slavery then that is poor education on your part.

I live in the mid-south? Kentucky, so whatever you consider it. Anyway, many moons ago, when I was in high school, kids would put that flag in the back glass of their low-riders. Low-rider was local slang for S-10 pickup truck. They did it because they thought it looked kewl. It was as innocent as that.

Our high school football/baseball team just happened to be called "The rebels" as well, which also bore that flags symbol lol.

Why do they love the "history" so much? the history of a group that hated the America they love so much?

I live here, and when I see that, I see someone explicitly using an icon from a time when I was legally property, to channel a sense of 'southern pride' or a sense of 'the lost golden age (of white supremacy).' They can dance around it all they like. These two things are linked. If a confederate flag is the only way you can show your 'southern pride' then it's linked in your mind too.

By all means, tell me that it's not racist. When onlookers see you caping for that flag, they know where your priorities are.

I might can help with that. The explicit reason the whole kneeling thing happened was in protest of police brutality. It had nothing to do with the flag, and still doesn't, unless you live in the right wing ideasphere, that constantly mischaracterizes the nature of reason behind the protest, while insisting the problem, racial bias in law enforcement and racially disproportionate gun violence against minority suspects, doesn't exist.

This person who insists that these protests are disrespectful to the flag is ignorant. And there's enough information out there (even from the protesting players themselves) to correct his ignorant ass, that the only reason he could still be ignorant is if he wanted to be and avoided anything that might correct him. Willfully ignorant. Therefore, idiot.

Well for one when ever you have multiple flags on a flag pole the US flag should always be at the top, but he has his confederate flag at the top and his US flag beneath it. Which is not only illegal but one of the most disrespectful things you can do, all the while he bitches about NFL players disrespecting the flag.

The flag is inanimate matter. Of course inanimate matter can't be racist.

The decision to fly that flag in spite of all it's baggage though, that might be a racist act. Given context, it is a racially insensitive act. At the very least, the person who willfully commits that act, can't really object to others interpreting that decision as racist, because we all know what's up. We know how a confederate flag will be interpreted and we want nothing to do with that. It's very important to the rest us that we not be outwardly perceived as racist.

History and context are a thing. This isn't even the only symbol that's been soiled by it's history. Similar examples are littered across the twentieth century. You'd have an easier time culturally reclaiming one of those, tbh.

So are you saying that no one who fought for the confederacy did so because they wanted to? they just had no choice? Citing "Robert E Lee just did it because of his family" doesn't change a thing about the post you quoted. Its hilarious to me that the group of people who constantly say "IF YOU DON'T LOVE AMERICA THEN GET OUT" so heavily praise a group of individuals who literally took that advice, and attempted to get out because they didn't like America...but for some reason they're treated as heroes to you guys.
